Duggar family fans have anxiously been waiting to hear any Duggar news about the family aside from Josh Duggar’s trial. Now, it seems Jed Duggar has something big to share. He recently posted to Instagram about how he and his wife, Katey Nakatsu, are expecting their first child together. And with the announcement, Jed added a joke about coronavirus (COVID-19). Here’s what he wrote.

The Duggar family’s famous for their courtships, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar typically make a huge announcement when one of their kids starts courting. But Jed went about his courtship differently. The 22-year-old made a splash when he went into politics, but he kept his courtship totally silent. And he made major Duggar news when he married Katey Nakatsu in secret. After the wedding, he finally announced to fans and followers that he had a wedding.
Eagle-eyed critics knew something was going on with Jed, though — and they suspected a wedding long before the family’s official announcement. Critics found Katey and Jed’s wedding registry, and one of Jed’s friends confirmed he was prepping for the wedding prior to the big day.
Now that Jed and Katey shared their marriage, Jed’s posted about how much he adores his wife. “I’m so grateful God brought Katey into my life and excited to share with you all that today she became my wife!” Jed wrote via Instagram. “Katey, the thought of sharing the rest of my life with you makes me the happiest man in the world! I love you so much!!”

As much as the Duggar family loves weddings, they also love children. And it’s no surprise that just months after Jed Duggar’s wedding, Jed and Katey are breaking Duggar news by announcing they’re expecting. But Jed’s also making headlines due to the joke he made via Instagram about the baby.
On Sept. 5, 2021, he posted photos of him and Katey to Instagram holding up a sign reading, “And then there were three. Baby Duggar Spring ’22.” Jed’s Instagram post reads, “She tested positive, but not for covid.”
Jed and Katey also posted a video sharing their early pregnancy journey. They visited Walmart to pick up a few items to create the sign announcing their pregnancy, and the video also shows them going to a baseball game with the other Duggars and sharing the news with them.
Many critics on Reddit hate the joke about coronavirus Jed made on Instagram, though.
“I hate their smug faces and that they think this is an appropriate ‘joke,'” one Reddit user commented. “So disgusting, honestly.”
“It was kind of funny last year but now it’s just a tired joke that no one is laughing at anymore,” another critic wrote.
Which Duggars are pregnant in 2021?
So, which other Duggar family members are making Duggar news for their pregnancies in 2021? It seems Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, is the only other member of the family awaiting the arrival of a baby.
Anna typically posts a lot about her pregnancy journeys, as she’s currently expecting her seventh child with Josh in fall 2021. Unfortunately, after Josh Duggar’s arrest in April 2021, Anna stopped posting to social media. It’s unclear if the Duggar family will post any photos of Josh and Anna’s seventh child when the baby finally comes, or if they’ll leave the couple away from the spotlight prior to Josh’s trial in November 2021.
