‘DWTS’: Gleb Savchenko Once Lived Over 1,500 Miles Away From Wife Elena Samodanova Prior to Chrishell Stause Cheating Rumors

While Gleb Savchenko and Chrishell Stause are no longer competing on Dancing With the Stars, they’re officially the talk of the town. It seems Savchenko is separating from wife Elena Samodanova because of his close relationship with Stause. Samodanova recently slammed her husband for allegedly being unfaithful.

It seems this is far from the only challenge the couple’s faced, though. We can’t forget that Savchenko once mentioned he was living 1,500 miles away from his wife and daughter.

The drama is heating up for Savchenko. He and Stause were making headlines for their close relationship — and that led to rumors that there was something more going on between the two. Finally, Samodanova spoke out about her marriage ending.

“After 14 years of marriage, and multiple affairs, I’ve decided enough is enough,” Samodanova told People. “Gleb and I have created a family and multiple businesses together. But apparently, it just wasn’t enough to keep our marriage strong.”

Samodanova then added that she believes her husband has been seeing another woman. “Gleb’s ongoing infidelity and a recent inappropriate relationship has created turmoil in our marriage and absolutely torn our family apart,” she added to the publication. And she continued on by stating she’s watched “another woman” gift her husband “expensive presents” and dinners, which was the final straw.

Savchenko countered by stating his relationship with Stause is completely friendly. “My relationship with Chrishell was and remains strictly platonic,” he noted. “Our friendship during our season on DWTS was not the reason for our split. Elena and I have had longstanding issues in our marriage.”

Savchenko and Samodanova lived in separate countries while married to chase career dreams

Samodanova and Savchenko connected through their love of dance and performance. Meaww notes they have two daughters together and co-own a studio in Los Angeles. And while dancing seemed to initially bring them together, it also geographically pushed them apart.

Savchenko starred in the dancing reality series, Strictly Come Dancing, which filmed in England. And he explained to The Sun in 2016 that he quit the show since he missed his daughter (he only had one at the time) and wife. Savchenko worked on the show while Samodanova was in Moscow, Russia, 1,500 miles away.

“When I was on Strictly it was really, really difficult,” Savchenko said. “I was missing out on so much and I didn’t get to see my daughter for six months out of the whole year. She’s going to be six in November and she has to go to school. My wife was trying to fly back and forth but it was too tough.”

Savchenko then added Samodanova “needs to feel loved,” too, which couldn’t be done from such a distance.

Savchenko once explained his secrets to a lasting marriage

It looks like Savchenko and Samodanova were able to work out their long-distance relationship at the time. And they didn’t appear to have any major hiccups in their marriage a few years back. Savchenko even told Entertainment Tonight about the secrets to a long and happy marriage.

“We’ve danced together for more than 10 years and we’ve been married more than 10 years, so we learn how to separate work and home,” Savchenko said. “At work, [it’s] just a business, so I’m very demanding. I ask a lot from her, she asks a lot from me, but when we’re at home, we are just happy husband and wife who love each other. We just enjoy each other’s company.”

Samodanova also told Entertainment Tonight she was “proud” of having a husband who was so “good looking,” as it reflected on her, too.

It’s clear the couple couldn’t work out their differences, though. We’ll have to see how the separation continues to play out.
