Elizabeth Olsen was born in California in 1989. Born into a large family with two older sisters and an older brother, she was a creative, innovative child who began performing when she was just a toddler.

At the age of four, she started co-starring in the movies made by her older sisters, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen. Over the next few years, Elizabeth Olsen appeared in a handful of their movies, but in 2004, she decided to take a step back from acting in order to focus on her education.

In 2011, Elizabeth Olsen made waves with her performance in the movie Martha Marcy May Marlene, a film about a young woman escaping a cult. Her work received positive reviews, and in short order, she acted in other movies like Silent House, Oldboy, Godzilla, and I Saw the Light.

Without a doubt, Elizabeth Olsen’s biggest project to date has been tackling the role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All in all, she has appeared in four Marvel movies as well as the Disney+ series WandaVision.

Elizabeth Olsen has two famous sisters

Elizabeth Olsen might be the biggest name in the Olsen family these days, but she has two iconic predecessors — Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, her older sisters and former child stars. The sisters rose to fame as the Olsen twins in the sitcom Full House, and by the time they were young teens, they had graced the cover of every pop-culture publication in the United States. Fans couldn’t get enough of the Olsen twins, or of their trendy style.

In 2004, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen decided to step away from acting in favor of working on their fashion projects. While they are no longer as visible as they once were, ’90s kids still fondly remember the days when the twins dominated the headlines — and their influence lives on in their talented younger sister, Elizabeth Olsen.

Why Elizabeth Olsen Quit Instagram

Over the years, Elizabeth Olsen has taken a lot of inspiration and advice from her sisters. One lesson, in particular, is one that can serve as a solid bit of wisdom for women of all ages. When asked in a recent interview if there is a family “mantra” or rule that she tries to live by, Elizabeth Olsen responded by stating: “I think there are two things. Something my sisters always say, which might have come from my father at one point — my dad, I don’t know — is that ‘no’ is a full sentence. And I really like that, especially as a woman.”

Clearly, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen still have some powerful wisdom that many of their fans can draw inspiration from.
