There’s a lot of revolution occurring in the world amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. After a white police officer kneeled on George Floyd’s neck until Floyd died, the Black Lives Matter movement has been reignited with vigor. And celebrities everywhere are speaking out against police brutality and for the safety of people of color in America.

We know the Duggars are Christian fundamentalists who believe in their ultra-strict way of life. And many of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s older kids have social media platforms of their own they can speak out on — but most have chosen to remain silent. Now, fans are asking Joy-Anna Duggar when her family will come forward and speak out.

The Duggars have mostly stayed silent regarding the riots and ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement

“Black Lives Matter” is currently sweeping over social media as those in support of Floyd and other people of color who’ve died at the hands of police are sharing how white allies can help. But the Duggar family hasn’t said much about any of it.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have their own Facebook and Instagram. And Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger (just to name a few) also use their platforms to share their thoughts, feelings, and daily happenings. So far, the Duggar Family Instagram has only posted about Jinger Duggar’s exciting baby news. And Jana’s last post was for Mother’s Day on May 10. As for Jill, she posted a to-go cup of coffee to her Instagram Story and thanked her husband for retrieving it, but she’s made no mention of the current state of the world, either.

Even Jed Duggar, the political Duggar kid, hasn’t said much. While he posted plenty about his political platform in the past, he has yet to take a public stance on the current situation.

Jinger Duggar’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, spoke out — but followers hated it

It looks like Jinger Duggar’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, is speaking out. On June 1, he gave a 20-minute sermon via Instagram. “I’ve been wanting to take the last days to listen. It’s been very important to hear the thoughts of others,” Vuolo started in his video. “I’ve been wanting to be slow to speak to the situation which unfolded last week.”

It looks like Jessa is in support of Vuolo’s preaching. She showed support for his sermon on her Instagram Story. But Duggar followers are still upset that Vuolo didn’t make any mention of the “Black Lives Matter” movement.

“Just got off that pathetic ig live sermon he did. He couldn’t even say Black Lives Matter or openly condemn police brutality, despite numerous comments urging him to do so,” a Reddit user noted. “All he gave us was some phony theatrical alligator tears and empty-sounding pleas to ‘turn to Jesus’ and ‘come together with our fellow citizens.’ Literally useless.”

Joy-Anna isn’t one to post anything too heavy for her personal Instagram. It’s full of lighthearted content about her son, Gideon, her husband, Austin Forsyth, and now, her current pregnancy. But amidst the current chaos in the country, she posted photos of her son and husband working outside and “playing in mud puddles” on May 30 — and her followers are wondering why she and the rest of her family members chose to stay silent thus far.

“Is anyone from your family going to comment on current issues?” a follower asked. ‘Non-Christians are watching. Christians are watching. Jesus would not be silent on this. Please use your platform for good.”

“All of your combined followers and support for your family, yet not one mention of support from ANY Duggar on the state of this nation and it’s fellow people of color,” another noted. “Shame. But we’re all God’s children, right?”

Joy-Anna hasn’t commented back yet, so we’re wondering if she’ll take a stand now that she’s been called out.
