Khloé Kardashian used to be one of the public’s favorite Kardashian-Jenner family members, well known for her love of wrestling, friendly putdowns, and over-the-top sense of humor. These days, however, Kardashian is much-maligned by fans due to her problematic relationship with Tristan Thompson.

Thompson, who is now embroiled in another cheating scandal, hasn’t spoken out publicly on his romance with Kardashian. But the reality star has been posting to Instagram in recent days, and one post, in particular, really got fans talking, mocking Kardashian for her habit of posting inspirational quotes.

Why did fans make fun of Khloé Kardashian for her Instagram story?

Kardashian has long had an affinity for posting inspirational quotes to her social media pages—and fans aren’t letting her get away with it. In a recent Reddit thread, fans called out a recent post from Kardashian, an inspirational quote that read, in part, “If someone doesn’t see your light, don’t worry. Like moths, good people are called to flame and to light, and they will come.”

Fans on Reddit slammed Kardashian for the post, with one writing “I can’t believe that no one in that family has sat her down and told her how embarrassing this is for her life and soul. It’s so cringe.”

Another remarked “I roll my eyes at these quotes not only for the hypocrisy but because they all say the same things: ‘be yourself, be kind, live life your way without hurting others.’ Why do you need constant reminders of these common sense things.”

One fan slammed Kardashian’s personality, noting “This reads like she’s encouraging people to be a doormat like herself.”

Most fans on Reddit seemed to believe that Kardashian’s recent Instagram post has less to do with herself and more to do with the situation with Thompson. In early December, reports broke that Thompson had fathered a baby with Houston-based personal trainer Maralee Nichols. The trainer is in the process of suing Thompson for child support, with Thompson admitting that he was intimate with Nichols in early 2021, when he was allegedly still dating Kardashian.

This isn’t the first time that Thompson has been embroiled in a cheating scandal—far from it, in fact. Just days before Kardashian gave birth to the daughter she shares with Thompson, the NBA pro was allegedly caught on camera getting cozy with several women. Kardashian forgave him, and the two were able to move on.

Then, in early 2019, Thompson was accused of kissing Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods. Through it all, Kardashian has managed to work through things with Thompson, much to the dismay of many fans.

Khloé Kardashian has been mocked on social media in the past

Kardashian hasn’t just been slammed for her relationship with Thompson. Over the years, fans have taken issue with the way she presents herself on social media. Kardashian has been accused of over-editing the photos that she shares on social media, using way too many filters and retouching apps until fans believe that she no longer resembles what she looks like in real life.

Kardashian has also come under fire for her “out of touch” posts, including some posts that she shared during the early days of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Reportedly, some of her posts called for followers to be grateful for what they have, which many took to be especially offensive since Kardashian is notoriously wealthy and privileged.

Through it all, Kardashian has soldiered on, continuing to share a succession of quotes and photos. These days, with the reality star making headlines again, it seems likely that she will keep using social media to present a carefully-curated image, even though it’s one that few fans seem to be on board with.
