Kendall Jenner is possibly the most low-key member of the Kardashian-Jenner family. She typically keeps her romantic relationships very private and prefers to keep the focus on her modeling career. Jenner began modeling at a young age and has walked the runway for many top brands. Despite having the designation as one of the world’s most recognizable models, Jenner has received a good deal of criticism. Recently, fans have started to question whether it’s time for Jenner to start seriously considering another career option.

When did Kendall Jenner start modeling?

Kendall Jenner first appeared on television in 2007, with the premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Her interest in modeling started shortly after becoming a pre-teen reality star. In 2009, she told her parents her dream was to be a well-known model. Her mother, Kris Jenner, arranged for her daughter to meet with a top modeling agency that same year. In short order, Kendall Jenner started working as a teenage model, working with fashion brands like Sherri Hill.

Jenner began working with top brands like Chanel, and even became a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Throughout the growth of her modeling career, Jenner continued filming the family’s reality show. She made it a point to claim she wanted the reality show to be second to her modeling career. Jenner has appeared on many magazine covers and walked the runways for many of the world’s biggest brands. Still, Jenner has not always been the most beloved model by those who follow pop culture.

Kendall Jenner has received a lot of criticism

While Jenner has always claimed her family made her modeling career more difficult and that many brands shut the door in her face, most critics don’t buy it. After all, Jenner is part of a famous family and has access to agencies and powerful people many don’t have the opportunity to meet with. All in all, her complaints sound a bit tone-deaf, especially coming from someone who has been able to achieve remarkable success.

Jenner has also managed to alienate fellow models over the past several years. In the summer of 2018, Jenner gave an interview where she revealed she’s always been “super selective” about what fashion shows she would do, unlike “those girls” who do thirty shows per season. Immediately after her interview, fellow models chimed in about the diss, saying they felt offended and angry about the slight. The fellow models responded saying Jenner’s statements only reveal the level of privilege she has enjoyed.

Is it time for Kendall Jenner to retire?

Recently, some fans on Reddit discussed her modeling career and how Jenner doesn’t seem to be on the runways as much recently. Some users claimed she’s not even a very good model and in a sea of striking beauties such as Gigi Hadid, Jenner doesn’t particularly stand out. Many users pointed out she seems to have a “lazy” work ethic compared to other young models, such as Kaia Gerber.

Ultimately, it seems as though even Jenner doesn’t really enjoy her modeling career and fans have definitely caught on. Furthermore, she doesn’t often appear on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, so she could be at odds as to her next move. Perhaps Jenner could look into designing clothing or even working in cosmetics, like her younger sister, Kylie Jenner. Whatever it is, Jenner will probably have to work extra hard in order to hold people’s interest.
