Fans of ‘Mare of Easttown’ Should Watch These Shows Next

The recent TV series Mare of Easttown came to an end this past month. The show had a gripping plot that reeled in viewers easily. While it did not get inspired from a book, the creator did base the town on where he grew up. 

Mare of Easttown is an HBO series that finished airing in May 2021. The show has seven episodes and is about Detective Mare Sheehan. Mare investigates the murder of a teenage mother while dealing with personal troubles. While Mare is a local hero, some people doubt her detective work. The limited series is a crime drama that focuses on the dark side of a closed community. 

Now that the story is over, fans of Mare of Easttown will want to find something else to watch. There are tons of similar shows, but it hard to know which ones might be worth seeing. Several of them stand out among the rest.

The Missing is a show from 2014, and it is about a family traveling to France during the FIFA World Cup. Their son goes missing, and the father continues searching eight years later. The next season focuses on the case of a missing girl. The British crime drama is able to portray the horrors of missing children for parents. 

‘The Killing’

Another thrilling show to watch is The Killing, which focuses on Seattle detective Sarah Linden. Based on a Danish series, Sarah follows various murder investigations. Instead of wrapping up a case in a single season, the homicide of a teen girl bleeds into season two.
