The Daytime Emmys are coming back to TV for the first time in years. The 47th annual awards show — which honors the best in television airing between 2 a.m. and 6 p.m., as well as certain digital content — will air on CBS on June 26. The show last aired on TV in 2015, when it was shown on the Pop network.

While the virtual ceremony will honor everything from the best courtroom program to the best talk show, some of the most-anticipated awards of the night will be handed out in the daytime drama categories. With just four soap operas still airing on broadcast TV, each show has racked up double-digit nominations. But which has the most nods?

ABC’s General Hospital led the 2020 Daytime Emmys nomination field with 23 total nominations. That’s more than any other nominated show. But rival NBC soap Days of Our Lives was hot on its heels, with 22 nominations. CBS’s two daytime dramas were in third and fourth place. The Young and the Restless earned 21 nominations and The Bold and the Beautiful got 13.

The four soaps were the most-nominated programs for 2020 Daytime Emmys. Other programs with multiple nods include Netflix’s Eastsiders and Amazon Prime’s The Bay and DARK/WEB, which are all nominated in the digital drama series category. Sesame Street, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Elena of Avalor, and Jeopardy! are among the other shows with six or more nominations.

When it comes to overall Emmy wins, General Hospital also edges out its competitors. The series, which made its debut in 1963, has won outstanding drama series 13 times. It won for the first time in 1981 and last took home the award in 2017.

The Young and the Restless has been declared the best soap of the year 10 times, winning most recently in 2019. Days of Our Lives has won four times, most recently in 2018, and The Bold and the Beautiful has won three times. It last got the trophy in 2011. As the World Turns also took home the top prize four times, last winning in 2003. (That show was canceled in 2010.)

General Hospital also comes out on top when you look at outstanding lead actor awards. A performer from the show has won the award 11 times, with most of the trophies going to Anthony Geary, who played Luke Spencer on the soap from 1978 to 2017. He’s also the actor with the most Daytime Emmy wins in this category.

In the outstanding lead actress category, the now-canceled One Life to Live is the champ. An actress from the show won the award 11 times before it ended its run in 2012.

The 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will air Friday, June 26 at 8/7c on CBS.
