ABC’s General Hospital has graced the airwaves for nearly 60 years. The classic soap opera delivers stories rooted in drama, romance, and crime in the fictional town of Port Charles, New York. Many of the families on the show have been around for decades. But oftentimes, the actors who star on General Hospital move on, leaving unfinished business for their characters.

Fortunately, the soap genre operates with a large amount of flexibility when it comes to recasting roles. One such character, Lucky Spencer, has been portrayed by multiple actors who have gone on to enjoy successful careers beyond General Hospital. But which performer boasts the biggest bank account?

Three actors have played Lucky Spencer

Lucas Lorenzo Spencer, Jr., better known as “Lucky,” is the first-born child of the mega-popular soap super-couple, Luke and Laura Spencer. Jonathan Jackson originated the role in 1993, followed by Jacob Young and Greg Vaughan. Lucky was defined by his strong moral compass, loyalty, and commitment to family and friends.

Each of the actors who portrayed the character enjoyed meaty material, bringing their own special star power to the role. All three actors departed from General Hospital and nabbed other high-profile gigs, which boosted their popularity with soap fans as well as their net worth.

Here’s how Jackson, young, and Vaughan rank when it comes to total wealth.

Jonathan Jackson

Jackson played Lucky Spencer on General Hospital from 1993 to 1999, and again from 2009 to 2011, followed by a brief appearance in 2015. Although he spent much of his adolescence and young adulthood on the soap, he gained experience with many other appearances on the big and small screens.

In 2012, Jackson scored a juicy role on the primetime soap, Nashville, opposite Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton. The accomplished musician and actor remained on the series for the entire six-year run. In his years as an entertainer, Jackson has managed to build considerable wealth totaling an estimated $3 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Jacob Young

In 2001, Young took over the role of Lucky Spencer. He stuck around for two years before departing for a part on another ABC soap. He landed the role of JR Chandler on All My Children, where he stayed until the series ended in 2011.

Soap fans may also recognize Young from the CBS daytime drama, The Bold and the Beautiful. The actor took on the role of Rick Forrester from 1997 to 1999, and again from 2011 to 2018. Since leaving the show, Young has remained busy appearing in various projects ranging from comedy to fantasy.

With two decades of acting work under his belt, Young has made a decent living. Although there is not a definitive consensus on his net worth, many sources, including Trend Celebs Now, estimate his total wealth lies somewhere between $1 million and $5 million.

Of the actors who have played Lucky on General Hospital, Greg Vaughan boasts the largest fortune with an estimated $8 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The soap star began his TV career on Baywatch in 1996 and has remained a fixture in entertainment ever since.

Vaughan has found success in both daytime and primetime with roles on shows, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Days of Our Lives, and Queen Sugar. In a recent appearance on the ABC primetime special, The Story of Soaps, Vaughan beamed about his experience, saying, “Daytime can offer a great environment, a playground if you will, to expand yourself and stretch your skills to see how far you’re willing to go.”
