Gwen Stefani Says Blake Shelton Is Already a Good Dad

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are one of the most buzzed-about couples in the world. The unlikely pair started dating after their individual, respective divorces, fascinating their fans as they seemed to find an intense, personal connection.

While Shelton and Stefani haven’t announced any engagement or wedding plans, fans are expecting that the happy news will be any day now. In the meantime, Shelton is bonding closely with Stefani and her children, and according to a recent interview with Stefani, is settling into his role of stepdad perfectly.

How many kids does Gwen Stefani have?

Gwen Stefani first rose to fame in the early nineties as the frontwoman of the ska band No Doubt. Stefani’s signature style, with bright red lipstick and funky, platinum blonde hairstyles, made her an iconic figure in both music and pop culture.

Stefani married Bush singer Gavin Rossdale in September 2002, and the two went on to have three sons – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. 

In 2015, Rossdale and Stefani split. They have continued to co-parent their sons successfully, with Rossdale going on to form a relationship with a model and Stefani hooking up with Blake Shelton, her fellow judge on the wildly popular singing competition show The Voice. Although Shelton and Stefani’s relationship definitely blindsided many people, with Shelton an Oklahoma-born country singer and Stefani the epitome of a California girl, the two are rock-solid and seemingly crazy about each other. 

Blake Shelton is a ‘good dad’

It isn’t just Stefani who enjoys having Blake Shelton around – her kids have formed a great relationship with the country music star. The family has spent many holidays together, and neither Stefani nor Shelton shy away from sharing their happy moments on social media. 

Recently, Gwen Stefani sat down with the Today Show to discuss her relationship with Shelton and how good he is with her kids. Stefani acknowledged that life is crazy and that she never would have foreseen ending up with Shelton, but reiterated how happy they are together and what a great person Shelton is.

Host Hoda Kotb asked Stefani if Shelton would be a good father, and Stefani quickly replied that he’s already a good dad, and helps her a lot with her three sons. She also talked about how difficult it can be raising three boys who are such different ages — from her oldest, Kingston, who is 13, to her youngest, Apollo, who just entered preschool.

Could Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have a baby together?

Although Blake Shelton is clearly a great stepdad to Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, many fans have speculated that Shelton could possibly want a child of his own. Rumors that he and Stefani are going to try for a baby have persisted for several years, but the pair have refused to directly address the speculation.

There have been rumors that Shelton and Stefani are considering surrogacy as well as in the process of getting IVF treatments, but so far, there has been no direct evidence to confirm these rumors.

It is entirely possible that the couple is happy with Stefani’s three boys, and have no plans of trying for a baby in the future. They could also simply be taking things slow and seeing where their relationship takes them.
