Harry Styles shocked Marvel fans when he showed up in an Eternals mid-credits scene as Eros, the brother of Thanos. No one knew it was coming. But when it happened, fans knew it was a big deal. After all, Marvel wouldn’t have put such a big star into a scene without having plans for the character. Could Style’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe be more “massive” than even the biggest fans saw coming?

Eros was never mentioned in the MCU before Harry Styles’ appearance in ‘Eternals’

Before he showed up in the Eternals, Eros had never been seen or mentioned in the MCU. In the surprise scene, the Eternals were in search of the remaining Celestials when Eros suddenly interrupted them.

He was joined by Pip the Troll who announced his arrival on the Domo and introduced him as the prince of Titan. Eros announced that he knew where to find the recently abducted Phastos, Kingo, and Sersi, who were all in danger. What’s more, he could help Druig, Thena, and Makkari get them back.

Eros is a ‘pretty foxy guy’ in the Marvel comics

Instead of being like his Mad Titan brother, Eros is a carefree, womanizing adventurer known as Starfox. That’s a codename he received from Wasp when he joined the Avengers because he’s a “pretty foxy guy” who came from the stars.

He’s part of Marvel’s cosmic canon, which MCU fans know about thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy. And, most notably, he’s a massive flirt. Seriously, he was on a team with Scarlet Witch, Monica “Captain Marvel” Rambeau, Wasp, and She-Hulk, and Starfox flirted with every single one of them. We should also mention that in the comics, Starfox has a “pleasure power.”

Harry Styles’ future in the MCU could be more ‘massive’ than fans thought

What could Styles’ surprise appearance as Eros — aka Starfox — mean for the character’s future in the MCU? According to Giant Freakin’ Robot, it could be even more “massive” than even the biggest fans saw coming.

The outlet is reporting that Styles has signed a five-movie deal with Marvel Studios, and their trusted insider is promising big things.

“Harry Styles is set to become a major part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Audiences should expect to see a lot more of him. He’s been talking to Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel, who promised big things for the actor’s future. A solo project for Starfox is a possibility on the table,” the insider dished.

“It sounds like Harry Styles is being set up for a massive future in their cinematic universe, something comparable to Nick Fury’s many appearances.”

Marvel has not confirmed the Starfox rumors

Despite the insider being touted as reliable, with a history of dishing truths about Marvel, we have to make it clear that the claim that Styles has signed a five-movie deal is just a rumor. No one from Marvel or Styles’ team has confirmed this to be true.

Feige has addressed Styles’ appearance in Eternals, though. At the Hollywood premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home in December, Feige actually teased the character’s return. But, he didn’t reveal any details about Styles’ possible future in the MCU.

Kevin Feige praises Harry Styles

Feige spoke with Entertainment Tonight about Styles’ appearance in the Eternals‘ mid-credits  scene. The Marvel boss called it a “fun teaser tag at the end of the movie.” He also praised the Starfox character, and said Styles had plenty of fans both inside and outside of Marvel Studios.

Feige concluded his statement by saying that as the MCU expands and continues in the cosmic arena, “there are ideas.” Fans will have to wait and see if those “ideas” mean a Starfox appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which comes out in 2023.
