It’s safe to say the Harry Potter series wouldn’t be the same without Emma Watson. A critical element to her performance is the undeniable chemistry she has with her co-stars, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe. While watching the series, it feels like the actors are all just as close as Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

But while filming the series, constant rumors were buzzing around about a secret romance between Watson and her leading co-stars. What does Watson have to say about this? Did she ever have a secret fling with either Grint or Radcliffe?

Emma Watson became extremely close to Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint while filming ‘Harry Potter’

Watson first got her role in the Harry Potter series when she was nine years old. While filming the movies, she became so close to Grint and Radcliffe that she considers them to be like siblings.

But despite the platonic nature of their relationship, has Watson ever dated either Grint or Radcliffe?

According to Watson, she never had any sort of romantic relationship with either member of The Golden Trio. Although she has admitted to shipping Ron and Hermione, the main cast is strictly platonic.

“The whole 10-year period, I never so much as pecked either one of them (Rupert Grint or Daniel Radcliffe) on the cheek,” she said while appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show. “It was pure friendship.”

And at one point, Watson got so fed up with answering the same question repeatedly about whether she ever crushed on Radcliffe or Grint that she joked she was actually married to Grint.

While appearing on The Regus and Kelly Show, she was again asked if she ever had feelings for her co-stars.

She said, “Regis, you have honestly asked this question every year since I was 11 years old. Every year… Without fail.” She then joked, “Okay, fine. We’re getting married… (Rupert and I) are getting married, and we’re going to have little ginger kids. We’re going to live in a beautiful house, and we’re very in love.”

But despite not ever having feelings for Grint or Radcliffe, Watson decided to “fraternize with the enemy”, as Ron would put it, by crushing hard on Draco Malfoy- er- Tom Felton.

Watson had a raging crush on her mortal nemesis of the series, Draco Malfoy. And although they are great friends now and her feelings have subsided, she had it bad for her co-star while filming Harry Potter.

This was especially true in the earlier films.

“Between the ages of 10 and 12, I had a really terrible crush on Tom Felton,” she confessed on The Jonathan Ross Show. “We love a bad guy, and he was a few years older, and he had a skateboard, and that just did it, really. Tom used to do tricks on it. He was so cool. He totally knew [I had a crush]. And the thing is, he’d turn and go, ‘Oh, I see her in a younger sisterly way.’ And it just broke my heart… still does.”
