Kate and Yelena formed a bond in ‘Hawkeye’

Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh’s characters came face-to-face in the epic fight scene in Hawkeye Episode 4. But they didn’t officially meet until the next hour.

Kate returned to her apartment after the fight to find Yelena waiting for her. Yelena made mac and cheese for the two of them, and they talked while they ate. It’s clear that they were on opposing sides, but their chemistry is palpable. Somehow, through the mess, Kate and Yelena formed a bond that translated over to the finale.

Kate, still trying to protect Clint, fought Yelena. They both pulled their punches, though, because they weren’t trying to hurt one another. In the end, Yelena realized the truth behind her sister’s death, and she left. Meanwhile, Kate and Clint jetted off to spend Christmas with his family.

The Hawkeye finale had a happy ending, but fans want a season 2. And they hope that it includes both Kate and Yelena.

Fans want Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh to return for ‘Hawkeye’ Season 2

After watching the Hawkeye finale, fans went on Twitter to express their desire to see Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh reprise their roles for a possible season 2.

“The way I would watch a whole show with these two and it would probably be my favourite show ever,” one fan wrote. “Give us the Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova spinoff we need, Marvel!”

Another person tweeted, “Our new Hawkeye and Black Widow will return!” in reference to Kate and Yelena.

Some fans even proposed ideas for a second season. One person said, “Season 2 of Hawkeye should be a 6 episodes mini only about Kate and Yelena in the elevator together.”

Another fan wrote, “Hawkeye season 2 but it’s just Yelena and Kate bickering.”

Only time will tell if any of these fan theories and dreams for a second season come true. Hopefully, Marvel recognizes how many people love this show and will announce more episodes soon. Interestingly, Marvel marketed the finale as a “season finale,” indicating there will be more seasons.

‘Hawkeye’ directors entertain the idea of a season 2

Before the Hawkeye finale, Bert and Bertie, who directed three episodes of the show, spoke with Buzzfeed about a potential season 2.

“It’s exciting to hear fans clamoring for a season 2,” Bertie said. “We can’t say anything. I think that’s when you know you’re doing something right and that people are really satisfied. They’ve been around for this rollercoaster, and they want more. More Kate, more Yelena, more everything. It’s the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so these stories continue, right?”

All six episodes of Hawkeye Season 1 are now streaming on Disney+.
