While Avengers: Endgame was a crowning moment for the MCU, it wouldn’t have been possible without the many Marvel movies that came before it.

One of those movies was Avengers: Infinity War, and while it was good, it did have some flaws that Avengers: Endgame had to fix. One of those issues had to do with Hawkeye, who simply did not show up in Avengers: Infinity War at all.

This was a big problem since Hawkeye was one of the original Avengers, and he was in the first two Avengers movies. As it turns out though, Hawkeye was dealing with some personal problems, and now Marvel fans are wondering if his new Disney+ show will explore that.

As Endgame revealed, Hawkeye was not doing much during Infinity War. He had been released from prison and he was just spending time with his family. But of course, as the first few minutes of Endgame showed, his entire family got snapped away by Thanos, leaving him completely traumatized.

The rest of the Avengers dealt with their failure to stop Thanos differently. Captain America worked at a support group for survivors, Black Widow became the leader of the Avengers, and Tony Stark became a full-time dad. Hawkeye, on the other hand, became Ronin.

In the movie, he was still known as Hawkeye or Clint, but his transformation was clearly based on Ronin, who’s a character from the comics.

There are a lot of similarities and differences between the Ronin in the comics and the Ronin in the MCU, but generally speaking, Ronin uses swords and he’s a pretty violent person. Marvel characters, like many superheroes, tend to refrain from killing anyone, but not Ronin. That said, Ronin is still a good guy in the sense that he only kills the bad guys.

In Endgame, after becoming Ronin, Hawkeye travels the world and kills criminals and gangsters. The Avengers are tracking him down, but he doesn’t come to his senses until Black Widow gives him some hope. And of course, after the Avengers save the day and bring everyone back, Hawkeye seemingly stops being Ronin for good.

Still, many Marvel fans enjoyed the short Ronin storyline in Endgame, and some fans want to see more of it. And, since Hawkeye is getting his own show on Disney+, some fans think that this is a great chance for Disney to do just that.

How much screen time will Ronin have on ‘Hawkeye’?

Like Marvel fans on Reddit talked about, there’s a good chance that Ronin will make an appearance in the show. After all, Ronin only showed up for a few minutes in Endgame, and as far as anyone knows, Hawkeye had been Ronin for years now.

This means that there’s a lot of potentially good stories that could only happen with Ronin, and Marvel could take the chance to explore those stories in the show.

On top of that, like Marvel fans mentioned, another character, Echo, is supposedly a part of the show too. In the comics, Echo was actually known as Ronin for a time. It’s possible that Echo won’t be related to Ronin’s story in the show, but it’s too big of a coincidence for fans to ignore.

That said, some fans are more realistic about how much screen time Ronin will have. Like one fan said, “I have a feeling it won’t be a significant part of the show though.”

While Ronin is a cool and complex character, it doesn’t move Hawkeye’s story forward. After Endgame, Hawkeye is back to his normal self, so it wouldn’t make sense to spend too much time dwelling on Ronin and the past.
