Here’s How Disney Fans Are Celebrating Mickey Mouse’s Birthday in 2020

Disney fans first met this lovable mouse in 1928. Since then, he’s become a cultural icon and the star of several animated features. Now, Mickey Mouse and his friends will go on endless adventures with a new series, available exclusively on Disney+

Here’s what we know about The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse and the significance of its premiere date.

The Disney Channel ‘Mickey Mouse’ shorts are available on Disney+

He loves Minnie Mouse, his dog pluto, and dancing. Since Steamboat Willie, Disney’s premiered plenty of cartoons featuring Mickey Mouse. Most recently, that includes the Mickey Mouse shorts, which premiered in 2013 and earned a number of Emmy Awards.

It’s this stylized version of Mickey featured in the cartoon shorts that inspired a global line of consumer products, as well as the new attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Although they were originally available on Disney’s television network, Disney Channel, all five seasons of the shorts are currently available to stream on Disney+. Now, there will be a new original series featuring the same style of animation, available exclusively on Disney’s subscription service.
