How BTS Reacted After Losing Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2022 Grammy Awards
The 2022 Grammy Awards took place on April 3. At the award show, BTS were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and performed their song “Butter.” And after the Grammys, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook held a VLIVE to talk about what it was like to attend.
BTS were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2022 Grammy Awards
“Butter” by BTS received the nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The band was one of five 2022 Grammy nominees in the category. But Doja Cat and SZA ended up winning the award for “Kiss Me More.”

Toward the beginning of the award show, BTS performed “Butter” with an elaborate spy-themed performance.
How the BTS members felt after the 2022 Grammy Awards
Immediately after the 2022 Grammy Awards concluded, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook held a VLIVE livestream to talk about their performance and their nomination.
RM shared that he thought multiple moments from the award show were indicators BTS had a chance at winning.
“Top Duo was … moved to the end. We did our stage early on. And then in the middle, there’s this quick, fun talk with the emcee. Isn’t this a sign — a clear sign?” RM said in the VLIVE, according to the English translation.
The band members then praised “Kiss Me More,” and RM said he often listens to the song when he works out. The members of BTS agreed that Doja Cat and SZA deserved to win for “Kiss Me More.”
RM then told fans that while BTS were “disappointed” in the present, they would allow themselves to feel sad and then move on.
“We will be disappointed today and let it go,” RM said in the VLIVE.
What the BTS members thought of their performance
In the VLIVE, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook also talked about their performance of “Butter” at the Grammy Awards. At first, the members admitted they were apprehensive about their performance.
“We were really nervous too,” V said in the VLIVE.
J-Hope agreed, saying, “Everything was live. So we were even more nervous.”
While BTS did not take home the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, the members still felt happy with what they accomplished at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
V pointed out that their performance of “Butter” marked their first time performing an in-person solo stage at the Grammy Awards.
“I find meaning in that,” he said.
