Fans get a clue of Jazz Jennings’ age from the I Am Jazz Season 7 trailer. She notes she was accepted to Harvard University two years prior to the season filming — but everything changed when she started dealing with mental health difficulties. She then explained she dealt with binge-eating disorder, resulting in 100 pounds of weight gain over the course of a year.

“I started binge-eating, and I gained weight, and more weight, and more weight,” Jazz explains in the trailer. “And now, almost 100 pounds heavier, here I am today.”

According to the trailer, it seems a lot of the new season will focus on Jazz accepting herself while dealing with fat-shaming commentary from her family. One scene shows her Grandma Jacky commenting on what Jazz typically eats for breakfast. Another scene shows Jazz’s sister, Ari, talking about how much butter Jazz put on her pasta at dinner.

“I do experience fat-shaming from my family,” Jazz explains. “It makes me feel really humiliated.”

So, what is Jazz Jennings’ age in I Am Jazz Season 7? The reality star turned 21 years old on Oct. 6, 2021. She was born in the year 2000.

As for what age Jazz was when she knew she was a woman, she told Time that the answer is quite simple: She always knew. “Ever since I could form coherent thoughts, I knew I was a girl trapped inside a boy’s body,” she added. “There was never any confusion in my mind. The confusing part was why no one else could see what was wrong.”

By age 11, doctors prescribed Jennings hormone blockers so she wouldn’t have to go through male puberty. She then began having gender confirmation surgery in 2018, according to Women’s Health.

“It was like a dream,” Jennings told ABC News about the surgery. “It was. This is a moment that I had always envisioned and just experiencing it was so surreal. I was like I can’t believe this is happening.”

The conversations about going to Harvard will clearly continue in the new season.
