Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were reportedly preparing for a baby before their marriage fell apart. Aniston has been adamant about her desire to have children multiple times throughout her career, and an insider now claims that she and Pitt actively prepared to have a child together. Jennifer Aniston on having children while married to Brad Pitt

There has been plenty of speculation about why Pitt and Aniston’s marriage didn’t work out. While some fans blamed Jolie for their breakup, others claimed that they parted ways because Aniston didn’t want any children.

But Aniston has fired back at those reports on several occasions. In an interview with The Guardian in 2004, for example, Aniston admitted that the timing was right to have a child with Pitt.

“It’s time. It’s time. You know, I think you can work with a baby, I think you can work pregnant, I think you can do all of it. So, I’m just truly looking forward to slowing down,” she shared.

Aniston did not give a timetable for when she wanted to have a child with the Fight Club star. But it sounded like she was thinking about trying to get pregnant by the end of that year.

The actress pointed out that she was going to be done with Friends and that Pitt was wrapping up his latest movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, giving them some free time to figure things out.

An insider claims Pitt and Aniston were planning for a baby

Unfortunately, Pitt and Aniston’s plans for having a baby together never panned out. In 2005, the couple confirmed that they were getting a divorce and Pitt sparked up a romance with his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star later that year.

Pitt would go on to share multiple children with Jolie. Aniston, meanwhile, got married to Justin Theroux in 2015. The pair divorced two years later and did not have any children together.

Although Aniston has yet to join the ranks of motherhood, an inside source claims that she and Pitt were very serious about starting a family together. The source says that they were preparing their home for a baby by adding a playroom and a room for a nanny.

“I saw the old plans,” the source told @deuxmoi. “They were def planning on having a kid. Bc they had a baby room, nanny room and playroom.”

Aniston still seemingly wanted children after her split from Brad Pitt

Despite Aniston’s interview in 2004, people have still accused her of not wanting to have any children of her own. In response to the reports, Aniston has maintained that she has wanted to become a mother in multiple interviews.

During a sit-down with Vogue in 2008, the Friends star fired back at the rumors and assured fans that she will have a baby someday.

“I’ve said it so many times: I’m going to have children. I just know it,” she explained.

She added that the reports that surfaced after her divorce from Pitt “really pissed” her off. She also stated that some of her biggest idols growing up were women who juggled raising families with having careers.

Although Aniston has been firm about her desire to be a mom, the actress has changed her plans in more recent years.

Jennifer Aniston changes her tune on starting a family

In 2018, Aniston was once again asked about having children in an interview with Elle. Despite her earlier comments, Aniston admitted that starting a family was a “frightening” prospect and that she has no regrets about her previous marriages.

“I don’t feel a void. I really don’t. My marriages [to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux], they’ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion,” Aniston shared.

The actress went on to say that her marriages only ended because both parties agreed that they would be happier living apart. She then confessed that perhaps her purpose in life “isn’t to procreate” but to show that not everyone fits into traditional molds.

Pitt has not commented on the reports surrounding his marriage to Aniston. Pitt and Jolie, meanwhile, separated in the fall of 2016.
