Grace and Frankie fans are preparing to say goodbye to Grace Hanson and Frankie Bergstein. Netflix is set to release the show’s final episodes on April 29. Still, fans are hoping for more. June Diane Raphael hopes so, too. Raphael, who played Brianna Hanson for all seven seasons, recently revealed that she has penned a Grace and Frankie spinoff script.

June Diane Raphael reveals she has penned a ‘Grace and Frankie’ spinoff script

While the final episodes of  Grace and Frankie have yet to air, June Diane Raphael is looking toward the future. She is hoping that the future includes a bit more Brianna Hanson. During an interview with Today, Raphael revealed that she penned a script that would serve as a spinoff of the famed Netflix Original.

Raphael said she wrote a script with a writer from Grace and Frankie and has passed it off to Netflix for consideration. Raphael didn’t share much about the project titled Brianna, but she did say there could be a lot in store for her character. At this point, it seems like it is up to Netflix to make a decision. When that would happen is anyone’s guess.

June Diane Raphael isn’t the only actor ready to say goodbye to ‘Grace and Frankie’

Grace and Frankie is the longest-running Netflix original to date. While some cast members were ready to say goodbye to the unlikely best friends, not everyone was. Raphael isn’t prepared to let go of Brianna, and Lily Tomlin has expressed regrets about the series ending.

In a 2019 interview with USA Today, Tomlin said she was sorry that she agreed to end the series with its seventh season, noting that there is likely more story to tell. Perhaps Tomlin doesn’t have to walk away from the character of Frankie Bergstein. If Raphael’s Grace and Frankie spinoff gets picked up, we hope there might be room for a cameo or more from Tomlin.

The final drop will contain 12 episodes. Peter Gallagher, the actor who portrayed Nick, will reemerge in the last 12 episodes. Dolly Parton is also set to appear, according to Netflix. Parton’s inclusion in the show has been rumored for years. It will be the first time Parton, Tomlin, and Jane Fonda will appear in a project together since 9 to 5 in 1980.
