Keeping Up With the Kardashians is ending after more than a decade, and fans have a lot of feelings about it.

After the family made the announcement on Instagram on September 8th, viewers and critics alike have been struggling to understand the reasons behind the family’s decision. While there will be one more season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, presumably to wrap things up, the speculation among the fan base has already started.

Many fans have taken to Reddit to try to make sense of the announcement — and a few have pinpointed Kanye West as a possible reason for the show’s seemingly abrupt cancellation.

In 2007, when Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered on television, most people didn’t know anything about the family. Kim Kardashian was the best known of the crew, and at the time she was primarily known for being a member of Paris Hilton’s entourage.

In short order, the reality show (and the family) became very popular with viewers, and people began tuning in, week after week, to learn more about the rambunctious, energetic crew.

The Kardashians had their critics, especially at the beginning. Some people claimed that the family came across as being too materialistic and too focused on designer labels.

Others accused Kris Jenner of “using” her children to bring a greater level of fame to the family unit. Still, in spite of the haters, the Kardashians only grew more popular over the years, until it seemed as though they were on every magazine cover on newsstands and in stores all over the world.

Being on television for years is bound to change anyone, and to many viewers, the Kardashian-Jenner family has changed a great deal from when they first debuted on television.

Many viewers have accused the family of doctoring storylines in order to protect their privacy, and speculated that the primarily keep the juiciest subjects purely off-camera.

Some have stated that the family has changed the way that they speak, in order to sound more refined. Of course, the cosmetic changes are harder to deny, and many articles have been written over the years, pointing out how much each individual family member has changed up their appearance — all while staunchly denying plastic surgery rumors.

All of these things have likely contributed to Keeping Up with the Kardashians becoming less popular over the years. Still, the death knell for the show might have been sounded by someone who was definitely not part of the original cast.

Did Kanye West play a role in bringing ‘KUWTK’ to an end?

Over the past few twenty-four hours, fans have been discussing the ending of KUWTK on Reddit, speculating as to why the family has decided to move on. Many posters stated that they believe Kanye West, Kim Kardashian’s husband of six years is, in some small way, responsible for the show coming to a close.

West has been involved in a number of controversies over the years, and is currently involved in a campaign for the White House. Many media outlets such as MSN have reported that West and Kardashian are even having serious marriage problems.

“I wonder if Kanye’s issues might have played a part in the show ending if Kim didn’t want any of that to be filmed and it’s a huge part of her life,” one fan posted.

Another speculated that “I think their life is starting to get too real and they want some privacy. Especially considering Kanye and Kim are having marriage problems.”

A few fans pointed to Kourtney Kardashian’s desire for more privacy as a reason for the show winding to a close, and even others argued that the family might just be ready to walk away from the show while it is still a success.

Still, it is clear that many fans believe Kanye West could be a factor in the iconic show being over for good.
