Jackass Forever is a big return for the franchise. The hilarious and often painful stunts garner big reactions from audiences from both the television series and the film installments. However, even the daring cast won’t entirely go through with all of their antics. Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius backed out of one Jackass stunt as a result of a previous incident.

Jackass Forever is the first time that the gang is getting back together after 11 years. Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Wee Man, Danger Ehren, and Preston Lacy all return to give longtime fans exactly what they were asking for. Their stunts contain a mix of recreations of old jokes to brand new games of pain and humiliation.

However, the original crew is also introducing some new blood. Jasper, Rachel Wolfson, Sean “Poopies” McInerney, Zach Holmes, and Eric Manaka bring a new generation of daredevils who are willing to do practically anything. They are initially hesitant to follow through with some of the more intense gags, but they prove to be worthy additions to the cast.

Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius backed out of a skiing stunt

Knoxville and Pontius participated in a Jackass Forever Reddit AMA to answer fan questions about anything to promote the new movie. Many folks asked questions about the stuntwork, while others asked about their future in the franchise. However, one fan asked, “Is there a stunt you backed out of at the last minute, and if so, what was it and why?”

Knoxville initially responded, “No for both of us.” However, he proceeded to answer the question with a story involving a stunt that he and Pontius agreed to not follow through on as a result of a previous incident that would feel disrespectful and negative.

“One day we both collectively decided not to do a stunt when we were going to go down a ski slope in Donner’s Pass,” Knoxville wrote. “There was a negative feeling on set since someone had died on the slope that day. When there is a feeling of negativity associated with a stunt, we decide to not continue with it.”

Jackass Forever certainly includes a wide array of stunts. Some of them are simple pranks on the set that the cast and crew members weren’t entirely expecting. However, others are more complex and require further planning. Nevertheless, Jackass Forever pushes the envelope and flexes its budget with some large-scale stunts.

The newest installment includes several forms of penis torture, consuming gross substances, and other inventive stunts that create big laughs. However, it’s clear that Knoxville and Pontius consider outside circumstances before committing to a stunt. The skiing instance is an example of how they carefully approach decisions to follow through on a stunt.
