Those who follow the Duggars know all about Jill Duggar’s rift with her family. Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, have spoken out regarding why they’re no longer on TLC’s Counting On. And Jill also explained some of her family members aren’t necessarily supportive of her life decisions that stray from how she was raised.

Now, we’re taking a look back at a moment when Jana Duggar noted the Duggars were worried for Jill and Derick when they were on a mission trip in Central America. Here’s what she said.

Jana, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna Duggar went holiday food shopping for the family

The Duggars love a huge holiday celebration, as it’s a special time when all the kids, in-laws, and grandchildren can get together at Jim Bob and Michelle’s huge home. And TLC released a clip showing Jana, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna Duggar going on a shopping trip for a holiday feast.

“We could easily spend $100 because we’re feeding over 20 people, and so that wouldn’t be out of our price range for tonight,” Jessa told the cameras.

“On the average day in our family, we do make a lot of food, and so every meal is pretty big, but holiday meals, it’s crazy,” Jinger added. “We end up buying six of the bags of family-sized things because it’s just not quite enough.”

The young women then completed their shopping trip with some cheesecake, plenty of frozen vegetables, and a whole lot of butter.

Jana said the family worried about Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard at the time

Toward the end of the shopping trip, Jana reflected on what it’s like shopping for the big holiday feast without Jill. Jill and Derick were on a mission trip in another country at the time, so they couldn’t take part in the Duggar family holidays. And the whole Duggar clan really seemed to miss them.

“When we’re doing cooking things or shopping or whatever, it’s like, aw, you know, all of us are here except for Jill,” Jana told the cameras. “You know, you miss them. And I think even more around the holidays.”

Jana then explained “all” of the Duggars “worried about Jill and Derick” to some degree. “It’s not the safest place to be, that’s for sure,” she commented regarding the couple’s stay in El Salvador. “There’s a lot of violence, but it makes us pray a lot more.”

While Jana and the rest of the Duggars certainly missed Jill and Derick years ago, we’re wondering how they feel now. Jill and Derick don’t seem to take part in any of the big holiday traditions at Jim Bob and Michelle’s place.

At the end of 2019, a fan even asked Derick if he and Jill head over to the Duggar home to celebrate with the family — and Derick mentioned they both need permission from Jim Bob before entering the family home. For that reason, it seems like Jill and Derick have spent a lot of holidays and other major events alone, with friends, or with Derick’s side of the family.

As for the rest of the Duggars, they’ve remained mum on the subject. We’re hoping Jill gets to see some of her family members for the holidays in 2020, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
