The coronavirus (COVID-19) scare is sweeping the globe, and Americans everywhere are warned to stay indoors and practice social distancing. People are now taking to social media to connect with friends and family. And reality stars are also offering their thoughts and feelings about the virus.

We know the Duggars thanks to shows like 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar brought their 19 kids into the spotlight, and now, many of their oldest kids have Instagram accounts of their own. And Jana Duggar, their 30-year-old daughter who’s still living at home, is offering some solace to her followers with a post about the times we’re living in.

The Duggar family added a Facebook post about coronavirus

The Duggars aren’t remaining quiet about the coronavirus scare. We know the family is extremely religious, and they’re turning toward God for comfort during this difficult time. While the Duggar family has yet to post an official statement to their Instagram, they did take to their Facebook to offer some kind words.

“We know that this Coronavirus situation is unprecedented. Beyond the health threat, there are so many unknown economic and societal impacts this virus is making worldwide,” the post reads. “The one thing we do know is that even in the darkest days and in the most challenging times, we can put our trust and hope in God.”

The post then suggested that everyone should pray “for our leaders, for our healthcare workers, and especially for our elderly.” And many who commented on the post agreed with the sentiment and offered their own religious words.

Some of the Duggars are posting their thoughts and prayers regarding the virus

A few of Jim Bob and Michelle’s children have taken to Instagram to share how they feel about the virus as well. Jill Duggar had a funnier, less-serious approach to talking about the virus. She took to her Instagram Story in mid-March to share her adventure in attempting to find toilet paper when every store was fresh out.

“So, amidst the pandemic, we are nearly out of toilet paper. The one item that people are going crazy for,” Jill told her followers while sitting in her car with her kids in the backseat. She finally found the precious commodity at a Walmart, but supplies were low. And she took the camera with her around the store as she explained why she hated shopping at Walmart to begin with.

Jinger Duggar’s post is a lot more serious. She added a solemn photo of her daughter, Felicity, with a message about trusting in God.

“In times like these when it seems like everything is falling apart, we must be reminded that our hope as Christians does not rest in circumstance,” Jinger wrote to the ‘gram. “We have an eternal hope that is imperishable, unfading, kept in heaven for us. In this world we will encounter trials of various kinds. May these truths give us peace and remind us of the reality that this world is not our home.”

Jana Duggar explained what she’s up to

As for Jana, her post about coronavirus correlated with the first day of Spring. She added an Instagram photo of a drawing of a duck in a sketchbook, and the book was surrounded by plants. “Spring always seems to bring a lot of HOPE along with it, and a reminder that there is so much to look forward to!” she explained in her post.

She didn’t directly mention the coronavirus after that. But Jana did add a bit about how we need to “behave like ducks” during the most difficult times. “In these uncertain times, let’s try our best to behave like ducks: calm and unruffled on the surface, paddling like crazy underneath! I’ve been busy here working on some new things I hope to show you all soon!” she wrote.

We know Jana is super crafty. While she’s still living at home and helping care for her siblings, she has her own garden and has taken to plenty of DIY projects. We’re sure she’ll share what she’s up to while she’s practicing social distancing and staying at home. And many of her followers took to her Instagram to compliment her on the duck drawing, too!
