The drama will star actors Jang Ki-Yong and Song Hye-Kyo in the lead roles with K-Pop idols Sehun from EXO, Girl’s Day’s Yura, and more. ‘Now, We Are Breaking Up’ is about love and hurtful breakups

The 2021 K-drama is set to premiere on Korean television in November and air every Friday and Saturday. Now, We Are Breaking Up tells the heartwarming story of falling in love and the troubling emotions of breaking up. While the drama uses these stories as a premise, it will focus on two main characters.

Set in the context of the fashion industry, Song plays the role of Ha Yeong-Eun. Yeong-Eun is the trendy team leader of a famous fashion company called ‘The One.’ She is known for her cold demeanor and valuing structure above all else. The female lead soon crosses paths with a rich and attractive freelance fashion photographer named Yoon Jae-Gook, played by Jang.

Jang Ki-Yong will enlist on August 28, 2021

According to Soompi, Jang’s agency confirmed that he will enlist as an active-duty soldier on August 28 after concluding filming for Now, We Are Breaking Up. News of his enlistment date made the drama’s producers change the promotion schedule. Soompi explains that the producers will pre-record the drama’s press conference with Jang in attendance.

The producers explain that news of Jang’s enlistment date in mid-August came as a surprise. “Since our drama belongs to the emotional romance genre, we decided that it was especially important to show the leads’ relationship and chemistry [during the press conference],” said one of the drama’s producers.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), many K-dramas have opted for live streaming their press conferences and promotions for public safety. The Now, We Are Breaking Up conference will be one of the rare few instances of a prerecorded promotional event instead of live-streamed.
