Jen Shah is one of the latest additions to the Real Housewives franchise, and one of the boldest personalities on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Shah, who began appearing on RHOSLC in late 2020, has brought the drama to the series—but even diehard fans of the franchise could never have imagined what early 2021 would bring for the star.

Following the news of her sudden arrest, many fans have been eagerly following Shah’s storyline, and with her criminal trial coming up, it’s clear that all eyes are on the Bravo star. Still, many have found fault with Shah’s actions in days of late, including her recently-released line of merchandise, which has some fans on Reddit calling the reality star out for her audacity, and some of Shah’s fellow reality stars labeling her as “thirsty.”

In March 2021, Shah was arrested on charges of telemarketing/wire fraud, as well as money laundering. Page Six reports Shah as well as her assistant, Stuart Smith, have allegedly been committing these crimes for close to a decade.

Shah supposedly targeted older individuals in the alleged scam, in particular, people who were over the age of 55. The reality star pleaded not guilty to the charges, while her assistant pleaded guilty.

These days, exactly one year after her initial arrest, Shah is preparing for her criminal trial, all while filming The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. With Shah facing up to 30 years in prison, there’s a lot on the line for her – but she’s still maintaining her innocence and giving fans plenty to talk about, dropping a line of merchandise that has many fans questioning her line of thinking.

Jen Shah’s new merch line has fans slamming her online

Recently, Shah teamed up with Rebel P Customs to release an exclusive line of apparel. The line features T-shirts with the phrase “Free Jen Shah,” and hoodies that say “Shah Squad.” With prices starting at $30 for the T-shirt and up to $120 for a satin baseball jacket, fans were quick to take to Reddit to slam the merchandise. “Is she really THAT out of touch?” one critic wrote, with another detailing “She can’t be that tone deaf can she????”

“I don’t understand why Bravo is still giving her a platform. Gross,” one Reddit poster wrote. Few people had anything positive to say about Shah’s merchandise line, with many slamming her decision to try to make money while under investigation for defrauding seniors.

It isn’t just fans of the Bravo franchise who are speaking out about Shah’s branded T-shirts. Other housewives have gotten in on the conversation, with Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp recently joking about the products on an Instagram live. The two laughed about the merch, showing off pictures of the tees on video and dubbing Shah “thirsty” before declaring that if Shah sent them some of the items, they would wear them on their podcast.

Shah has also taken to her Instagram to share pictures of the clothes – prompting a response from fellow housewife Lisa Barlow, who commented on one such post with a heart emoji. With Shah’s trial newly pushed back to July 2022, according to The List, it seems as though the reality star still has time to make headlines and drum up controversy before pleading her case in earnest.
