Brad Pitt met Angelina Jolie while still married to Jennifer Aniston

In 1998, Friends was in full swing as one of the hottest sitcoms on television. Aniston was an established celebrity when she and Pitt were set up by their agents, according to Good Morning America. The two were engaged the following year and wed in July 2000. Soon considered Hollywood’s golden couple, the pair became the paparazzi’s number one target.

When Pitt took the starring role alongside Jolie in the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, rumors of more than just acting soon began to swirl. When Pitt and Aniston announced their split the same year, his relationship with Jolie came to the forefront.

Pitt and Jolie’s romance eventually led to sharing six children and tying the knot in 2014. Only two years later, they announced their separation which was prompted by Jolie.

Jennifer Aniston takes on producing

After playing Rachel Green for 10 seasons on the iconic sitcom, Aniston’s film career exploded. Starring in over 40 movies in her career, the former Friends star is one of today’s biggest box office draws.

While she clearly dedicates herself to acting, Aniston has decided to take on a producer role for several projects. Playing the lead alongside Reese Witherspoon in the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show, Aniston also serves as executive producer. According to IMDb, the actress produced several other projects including Dumplin’, Murder Mystery, and The Yellow Birds.

The Friends alum recently revealed she is more selective now in what roles she chooses. “Time is precious, and what takes me away from home has to be really worth it,” Aniston told Entertainment Weekly in 2019. “In the last 10 years, I’m just having more fun and exploring characters I wouldn’t have normally thought to do.”

Aniston’s reported net worth is listed at $300 million.

Angelina Jolie

Directing several films including Unbroken and By The Sea, in which she co-starred with Pitt, Jolie earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2000 for her performance in Girl, Interrupted. As a Special Envoy for the United Nations, Jolie frequently travels internationally for her humanitarian work.

Recently starring in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the Academy Award winner recently wrote an essay for Elle entitled “Angelina Jolie on Why the World Needs More Wicked Women.” In her article, Jolie explored why women are misrepresented as evil rather than strong.

“‘Wicked women’ are just women who are tired of injustice and abuse,” she wrote in Elle. “Women who refuse to follow rules and codes they don’t believe are best for themselves or their families. Women who won’t give up on their voice and rights, even at the risk of death or imprisonment or rejection by their families and communities. If that is wickedness, then the world needs more wicked women.”
