Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck called off their wedding in 2003

Last spring, Lopez and Affleck started dating again nearly two decades after their first romance ended with a canceled wedding. Their original whirlwind romance began in mid-2002, and by November of that year they were engaged.

The couple planned to tie the knot on September 14, 2003, but the wedding never happened. Four days before the event, they canceled due to “excessive media attention.” Affleck and Lopez split for good in January 2004.

Fast forward to the spring of 2021, and just days after Lopez called off her engagement to former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, the Marry Me star had reconnected with Affleck. The two quickly rekindled their romance and started house hunting. In just one year, they purchased a home together, blended their families, and got engaged for a second time.

Internet gossips claim that Bennifer secretly married

According to a blind item posted at Bravo And Cocktails, Lopez and Affleck secretly got married in Georgia this past weekend. The report claims that the Grammy Winner and Oscar Winner said their “I do’s” at the Ritz Carlton in Lake Oconee.

“JLO and Ben getting married in Georgia this weekend according to my husband,” the claim read. “He said they’ve shut down the Ritz Carlton in Lake Oconee.”

In a second post, a fan speculated that Lopez and Affleck would be keeping the info secret until next month when JLO’s documentary Halftime hits Netflix on June 14.

“It’s the wedding and will [sic] see the wedding photo at the end of her documentary…mark my words,” the post claimed.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are putting family first and keeping some things private

Despite the media problems they had 20 years ago, Affleck and Lopez pack on the PDA in public and support each other on the red carpet when their respective projects are released. But this time around Affleck says he’s learned not to “share everything with the world.” He told Cinema Blend that some things are kept “private and intimate.”

Lopez says that she thinks very differently after having kids, and her perspective has turned into a healthier work-life balance. The 52-year-old says at this point in her life, family comes first — even though she “hates to say no” to business opportunities.
