Lopez was born to be a star. The New York-born actor first ventured into the entertainment business in 1991, when she earned a role as a Fly Girl on the series In Living Color. After two years on the show, Lopez decided to break into the big time, landing her first major role in the 1997 biopic Selena. Lopez earned significant critical acclaim for her work in the movie, and by the late ’90s, she was one of Hollywood’s biggest up-and-coming stars.

Lopez wasn’t content to be boxed in by any one project or genre. Although she was clearly a talented actress and dancer, Lopez still had love for the music industry, and in 1999, she released her debut studio album, On the 6. She quickly proved that she could devote equal energy to both her music and movie career and over the next several decades, she would continue to work on them simultaneously.

Jennifer Lopez has released many successful singles

Lopez has been widely praised for launching the popularity of the Latin-pop music movement. Her songs are infinitely danceable and fun, and many of them are club staples to this day. Lopez’s biggest songs include “I’m Real,” “If You Had My Love,” “All I Have,” and “Jenny from the Block.” Lopez usually accompanies her singles with a fun music video, one that showcases her dancing skills and ability to work with a group of expertly-choreographed dancers.

Out of all the songs she has released over her two decades in the music industry, Lopez does have a clear favorite – one that she revealed in a 2017 interview with Vanity Fair

In her 2017 Vanity Fair interview, one that she did alongside her then-boyfriend Rodriguez, Lopez was asked what her favorite song of hers is. “They are all my babies,” Lopez protested, before finally naming her top pick. “Probably ‘Dance Again.'” The song “Dance Again” was recorded by Lopez for her 2012 album Dance Again…the Hits. While the song, which featured contributions from Pitbull, wasn’t a huge hit on the Billboard charts in the United States, but clearly, it has a special place in Lopez’s heart.

As for Rodriguez, he had a much easier time choosing his favorite Lopez tune. In the interview, when asked the same question, Rodriguez quickly responded “Ooh, I have a lot…’On the Floor’…anything from that era of ‘Jenny From the Block.'” Rodriguez also gave props to Lopez’s dancing skills, calling her the “most amazing dancer.” Lopez and Rodriguez would go on to do more interviews together, collaborating on a wide variety of business ventures, only to break up in the summer of 2021, after more than four years together. Still, it seems safe to say that Rodriguez is still a fan of Lopez’s music.
