Aaron Rodgers continues to man the Jeopardy! board until the end of this week. With fans still mourning the death of game show icon Alex Trebek in November 2020, Jeopardy! producers have compiled a roster of guest hosts intended to keep viewers engaged. CNN’s Anderson Cooper is on deck next to take over the quiz show.

Who’s up next on ‘Jeopardy!’?

Rodgers wraps up his guest-hosting stint on April 16, passing the baton to Cooper, who takes on the role of quiz master beginning on April 19. The CNN and 60 Minutes reporter will be at the Jeopardy! helm through April 30.

Keeping in the journalism genre, 60 Minutes correspondent Bill Whitaker will step in on May 3. With decades of reporting to his name that includes his work on CBS Evening News and Sunday Morning, Whitaker has covered countless news stories and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Jeopardy! post. Whitaker will be at the quiz board through May 14.

Next up is Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik, who will guest host the game show beginning on May 31. Though she’s busy working on her new Fox sitcom Call Me Kat, Bialik is clearly thrilled to be taking on this Jeopardy! role.

“#DreamComeTrue for $500 please. 🤩😍,” she posted on Instagram in January. “From watching my whole life… to being an answer on the show… to guest hosting… this is literally a dream come true for me. I’ve been such a fan of @Jeopardy and Alex Trebek since I can remember. It will be an honor to guest host this iconic show and celebrate his great legacy.”

‘Jeopardy!’ guest hosts on deck but still not scheduled

Another CNN resident will be serving as Jeopardy! guest host in the upcoming months, when chief medical correspondent associate professor of neurosurgery at Emory University Hospital Sanjay Gupta trades his scrubs for a suit and tie at the lectern. Gupta expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and paid homage to the legendary Trebek.

“I used to watch @Jeopardy with my parents and now with my own kids,” he tweeted. “The thing is: there is just something so beautiful and reassuring about facts, simple straightforward facts. I cherish that. An honor to be an upcoming guest host, but seriously miss the great Alex Trebek.”

Today Show anchor Savannah Guthrie is also slated to do some trivia time as Jeopardy! guest host. No dates or amount of episodes have been announced yet for Gupta and Guthrie.

Aaron Rodgers wanted to be on the ‘Jeopardy!’ guest host list

A devout Jeopardy! fan since childhood, Rodgers wasn’t shy about wanting to be considered for a turn at the trivia board.

“We definitely put some feelers out as well,” the Green Bay Packer QB told USA Today. “I was excited about it. I was in quarantine for the early part of the [NFL] offseason and I spent that time watching episodes and writing notes and practicing and learning the beat points of the show.”

Rodgers noted that hosting the game show is quite a change from being a longtime viewer.

“It’s way different than being a fan, just casually watching it and answering questions on your couch,” the Super Bowl champ explained. “Being able to actually control the game and understand every point of the game, and what can happen to usher the game through each of the beat points of the show—that was really important for me to totally grasp before I went on.”
