When Jersey Shore premiered in December 2009, few people guessed that its cast of fist-pumping, hard-partying 20somethings would still be making headlines a decade later. But the show that celebrated the wild beach lifestyle proved incredibly enduring.

After airing for six seasons, Jersey Shore went off the air in 2012, only to return six years later for a reunion series, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. And the cast members, from Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi to Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, have become bona fide celebs. Reality TV has also made the Jersey Shore crew wealthy, with most boasting net worths in the millions. And none have fared better financially than Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio.

Of all the Jersey Shore cast members past and present, Pauly D is the richest. The 39-year-old has amassed a fortune worth an estimated $20 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth

DelVecchio and the rest of the cast weren’t paid for the first season of the MTV show. The only money the cast made was their hourly earnings from the Shore Store, where they started out at $10 an hour. Later, they got a raise to $15 an hour, and by the summer’s end, they were making $20 an hour. (They also got to live in the shore house for free.)

Not all the Jersey Shore housemates were great workers, but DelVecchio was one of the exceptions. The very first day, man, Pauly took it seriously,” store owner Danny Merk recalled in Vulture’s oral history of the iconic reality series.

By season 2, the cast had worked out a deal with MTV to get $10,000 per episode. Their salaries climbed throughout the show’s run, with audience favorites like Pauly D and Snooki eventually making $150,000 an episode or $2 million a season, according to Marketwatch.

Pauly D is one of the highest-paid DJs in the world

While Pauly D made millions from Jersey Shore, it’s his work as a DJ that’s behind his current net worth. DelVecchio was already a DJ before he joined the cast of Jersey Shore and he was able to use his reality TV fame to boost his career, landing big gigs and opening for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour.

Today, Pauly D is one of the highest-paid DJs in the world, with Forbes estimating his 2019 earnings at $11.5 million. In March 2019, he signed a deal for a 2-year residency at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas.

He’s been on multiple reality shows

In 2018, he was seen on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars with now-ex-girlfriend Aubrey O’Day. The two met on Famously Single in 2015. In 2012, he starred in The Pauly D Project, also on MTV, which chronicled his efforts to boost his career as a DJ.
