Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi rose to fame in 2010 as a member of the reality show Jersey Shore. Fans all over the world loved the pint-sized star’s outrageous personality and people flocked to costume supply stores year after year to try to emulate her appearance for Halloween parties.

Although Polizzi has since gone on to appear in other reality television shows, including a reboot of Jersey Shore, these days, she is much more focused on being a wife and mother. She is also dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle — something that was not a priority in the early days of her fame in Jersey Shore

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was born in Chile in 1987. She was adopted by Italian-American parents when she was only six months old and spent the remainder of her upbringing in New York.

In spite of the party-girl image that she cultivated in later years, Polizzi was actually quite scholastically inclined as a teenager and studied to become a veterinary technician after graduating from high school. Rather than follow through with her original plan, Polizzi was sidelined by reality television.

In 2009, Polizzi was cast on the MTV reality show Jersey Shore, along with a cast of fellow party people. Almost immediately, the show became a breakout hit for the network, with Polizzi receiving the lion’s share of attention due to her short stature, outrageous habits, and tendency to always speak her mind.

Over the next few years, Polizzi and the rest of the cast seemed to be everywhere, signing endorsement deals, appearing in television commercials, and making headlines.

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi followed a controversial diet

In 2012, Snooki Polizzi appeared in a spinoff of Jersey Shore, along with her co-star, Jenni “JWoww” Farley. The show, titled Snooki & JWoww, proved to be surprisingly popular, and even after Polizzi announced her pregnancy in early 2012, the series maintained its fan base and ran for several more seasons.

Polizzi has since appeared in several other reality shows, including Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. She also launched a new career as a lifestyle influencer, and regularly posts content on her social media pages.

In late 2014, Polizzi married her longtime boyfriend, Jionni LaValle. The two share three children. Prior to becoming a mother, Polizzi admitted to following a diet that was very trendy in 2010, but somewhat less so these days.

The Cookie Diet consists of eating nine specially-formulated cookies throughout the day and one balanced meal in the evenings for a total of around 1,000 to 1,200 calories per day. Not only did Polizzi admit to following the diet, but she revealed that she lost weight while on it.

A few years after abandoning the Cookie Diet, Polizzi started following a more healthy lifestyle. As she revealed in 2016, she typically opts for a protein-heavy breakfast, like a protein shake or a bar, and always tries to fit in a workout before lunch. She likes to eat lean protein and veggies for lunch and often chooses healthy staples like grilled chicken or veggies.

Polizzi also has a whole new appreciation for the gym and admitted to loving “working out in classes.” She enjoys training with weights and likes the effect of a lean, sculpted body.

However, it’s not just about aesthetics for Polizzi. She stated: “I love that I can be a strong and good mom to my kids.”

It is clear that the former party girl has the motivation that she needs to not only establish but maintain a healthy relationship with her body.
