Scandals hit the Duggar family once again thanks to Josh Duggar. Josh was arrested in 2021 for allegedly obtaining child sexual abuse images. Now, it looks like Jim Bob Duggar might have to do some damage control to save his family’s name. And he’s allegedly building a fence to protect his oldest child. Here’s what’s reportedly going on.

Where’s Josh Duggar now? The oldest Duggar family child was recently arrested

Josh’s scandals made life difficult for the rest of the Duggar family as far back as 2015. That year, the media caught wind that he allegedly sexually assaulted a few of his sisters and the family babysitter. Jill and Jessa Duggar came forward to talk about their experience. Ultimately, TLC canceled 19 Kids and Counting and replaced it with Counting On, a Josh-free show.

Now, the family’s in even more trouble. On April 29, 2021, the police arrested Josh for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse images. This investigation took place after the raiding of his car business. The next day, Josh pled not guilty.

“In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime,” his lawyers stated, according to the New York Post. “But when you’re accused, you can fight back in the courtroom — and that is exactly what Josh intends to do.”

Jim Bob Duggar is allegedly building a fence to protect Josh

It looks like Jim Bob might be going to great lengths to protect the Duggar family son. According to The Sun, Josh is staying with Lacount and Maria Reber, two family friends. They live in a mansion in Elkins, Arkansas, and agreed to take charge as third-party custodians in this trying time. It seems Josh cannot go back to his pregnant wife, Anna Duggar, and their six young children.

A source told The Sun Jim Bob plans on paying for a fence to be built around the Reber property, as he fears for Josh’s safety.

“Jim Bob is doing everything he can for Josh, and he’s worried about the attention on him and the family,” the source claimed. “He’s concerned about photographers in town covering the case, and anyone who might want to hurt Josh because of the crimes he’s accused of. Those who have rebelled against the family think it’s disgusting he’s pulling out all the stops for him years after he was forgiven for molesting his own sisters.”

So, does the rest of the Duggar family communicate with Josh at all? It’s doubtful, as many of them have also taken to social media to condemn what’s occurred. Jinger Duggar is allegedly “horrified and disgusted” by the allegations, a source told People.

“Being a family themselves, the idea of these kinds of charges against Josh is a horrific thing,” the source said. “Jinger is having a hard time coping with it.”

Jim Bob and Michelle also released a statement, as did TLC. “19 Kids and Counting has not aired since 2015,” TLC noted. “TLC canceled the show on the heels of prior allegations against Josh Duggar and he has not appeared on air since then.”

As for Josh and his wife, Anna, we’ll have to wait and see what happens with their relationship as everything plays out in the courtroom.

TLC did not return a request for comment regarding Jim Bob building a fence to protect Josh by the time of publication.
