Jinger Duggar’s Instagram Story Shows Her Promoting a Book With a Seriously Depressing Title
We’ve been keeping up with the Duggar family for years, and no one has surprised us more than Jinger Duggar. Back in the early days of 19 Kids and Counting, Jinger spoke of wanting to leave her home state of Arkansas in search of a more adventurous life. And she’s finally making her dreams come true with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, and their daughter, Felicity, as they moved to Los Angeles for Jeremy’s studies.
Jinger appears to be thriving in her new big city life. But she recently promoted a book on her Instagram Story that might have her followers scratching their heads in confusion. Here’s what Jinger posted and why it’s so alarming.
The end of 2019 brought a ton of controversy to the Duggar family
No family is perfect, and that’s especially true for families who’ve lived their lives in the public eye. But the Duggars have brought about controversy for years. While Josh Duggar’s sex scandals were the center of attention back in 2015, it’s now Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, who are making headlines.
At the end of 2019, Dillard started answering fan questions via Instagram regarding why he and Jill are rarely at family events. According to him, he and Jill need express permission to visit the Duggar family home. And he also claimed that Jim Bob is the one who controls the family’s finances, and TLC pressured them into continuing filming Counting On even though it was clear they wanted to take a step away from reality TV.
“We were made to believe we didn’t have a choice, and that we would be sued if we refused,” Dillard told his Instagram followers.
Many suspect Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo aren’t as happy as they seem
Jinger and Jeremy haven’t escaped fan criticism, of course. While many are happy they’re living their lives in California away from the rest of their family, others suspect they’re struggling.
Jinger’s attempts at being an Instagram influencer may not be going as planned, as her partnership with Fonuts was dropped once the company realized what the Duggars have promoted in the past. And we’re not sure how well her other social media advertisements are going.
As for Jinger and Jeremy’s relationship, that’s also talked about amongst their followers. Some think Jinger is insecure in her relationship to Jeremy, as that might explain her overly-sweet Instagram posts praising him as a father and husband. And others think they’ve seen video evidence of Jeremy’s eyes following other blonde women.
“I feel terrible for Jinger. I don’t for one second believe that Jinger dyed her hair blonde for herself,” a Reddit user stated. “I fully believe that Jeremy told her he prefers blondes and he will ‘stray’ unless she dyes it.”
Jinger is promoting a book with a depressing title to her Instagram followers
Jinger’s no stranger to promoting products to her Instagram followers. But her Instagram Story on Feb. 15 shows her promoting something a bit different.
“Can’t wait to read this book by @alliebstuckey,” Jinger captioned the post. And the title of the book the author is holding is “You’re Not Enough (And That’s Okay): Escaping the Toxic Culture of Self-Love.”
According to Google Books, this self-help book is all about how the trendy quest for self-love can actually be a trap into unhappiness.
“The truth is we can’t find satisfaction inside ourselves because we are the problem,” the book explains. “We struggle with feelings of inadequacy because we are inadequate. Alone, we are not good enough, smart enough, or beautiful enough. We’re not enough–period. And that’s okay, because God is.”
Many of Jinger’s followers are finding a major issue with this post, however. As one Reddit user wrote, “doesnt it make you sad to know that this is actually how the girls feel… they will never be good enough for their husbands and anything that goes wrong is their fault.”
We’re hoping Jinger isn’t feeling inadequate in her home life or marriage. And perhaps there’s a lot more to the book than the title and excerpt lead us to believe. But her Instagram Story is certainly alarming many!
