Joe Park hasn’t received much screentime on The Bachelorette Season 16, but he’s quickly becoming a Bachelor Nation fan-favorite. The anesthesiologist made it past the Tayshia Adams and Clare Crawley switch-up. But despite making it far in the season, the average viewer doesn’t know much about the contestant. So who is Joe from The Bachelorette? Here’s what you need to know.
Who is Joe Park from ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 16 with Tayshia Adams and Clare Crawley?
According to Joe’s Bachelorette profile, the anesthesiologist was on the front lines of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in New York City. Now, after experiencing a great deal of tragedy this year, Joe is ready to find his person and start a family. But will Adams be his perfect match? We’ll have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, host Chris Harrison opened up about Joe’s character when introducing The Bachelorette Season 16 cast back in September. He joked Joe put the producers to sleep because, well, he’s an anesthesiologist. But overall, Harrison wanted Bachelor Nation fans to know Joe was a good person.
“Dr. Joe is honestly a great guy,” Harrison said at the time. “I always love having a doctor in the house. He has great intentions, he’s a sweet guy, he means well, everybody really does love Joe. … He found himself though against some huge obstacles, but sneaky strong, and not afraid to fight.”
‘The Bachelorette’ fans fell in love with Joe Park on Instagram
Bachelor Nation fans can find Joe on Instagram under the handle @josephparkmd. He’s just shy of 21K followers on the social media platform and doesn’t seem to post often. But many viewers have connected with the contestant through his self-deprecating humor on his Instagram Stories. Joe also charmed the fandom when he took the time to thank Crawley when she left The Bachelorette to be with Dale Moss.
“That’s the end of that chapter,” Joe wrote on Instagram. “Thank you @clarecrawley for letting me be a part of your journey. I know it wasn’t easy for you (the hours of interviews, having to always be ON, the early mornings/late nights, the Yosef) and I’m happy you finally found what you were looking for.”
He continued, “We all deserve to find love. And we should celebrate it when we see it blossoming. Nothing but love and luck to you and @dalemoss13, wherever this journey leads you both.”
Meanwhile, it seems Harrison is starting to realize The Bachelorette production team slept on Joe’s appeal. In an interview with Us Weekly published in November 2020, the host said:
Because there was so much crazy drama with Clare and Dale, you didn’t get to know, you know, Brendan and Zac and Ben, and even Bennett to a certain degree, and some of these other guys that are wonderful that have been blowing up the internet now. … The anesthesiologist that everybody’s in love with right now [Dr. Joe]. There are some serious strong feelings being formed on both sides. Tayshia is one that was really ready for this and really relished the opportunity.
For now, The Bachelorette fans will have to wait and see how Joe’s relationship with Adams blossoms. But if things don’t work out, there are plenty of fans who are ready to see Joe as the next bachelor after Matt James or, at the very least, on Bachelor in Paradise.
