Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were the first to bring their ultra-conservative family of 19 children into the realm of reality TV. And we imagine they never could’ve known the backlash they’d receive. From scrutiny over how they raised their family to scandals that rocked their world, the Duggars seem to have more critics than fans at this point. And Josh Duggar was at the center of the biggest controversy the family ever experienced.

Back in 2015, reports claimed Josh molested underage girls, a few of whom were his own sisters. Now, he tends to stay out of the spotlight, though his wife, Anna, still posts about him on her Instagram. And since his birthday celebration happened in March 2020, we’re seeing how the Duggars partied on his big day. And we’re seeing now that only a few of Josh’s adult siblings made an appearance.

Josh Duggar just celebrated his 32nd birthday

Josh doesn’t have any social media of his own, but we’re still getting plenty of updates from Anna. Those who follow the Duggars know their marriage hasn’t been perfect. In addition to the 2015 scandal, Josh also reportedly had accounts with the cheating website Ashley Madison. He and Anna appeared to work through their difficulties, as Josh sought professional help. Now, in March 2020, Anna’s posting photos of Josh’s big 32nd birthday celebration.

“It’s not just #SuperTuesday it’s my best friend’s birthday! Happy 32nd Birthday Joshua!” Anna captioned an Instagram post on March 3. The post included photos of Josh and Anna with their six children along with balloons, sweets, and gifts. The celebration appeared to take place at Jim Bob and Michelle’s home, as they also included the same photo on the Duggar Family Instagram.

That wasn’t the only celebration of Josh, though. Anna included another photo on her Instagram on March 5 that shows the Duggars going out bowling. “The birthday celebration continues!” she captioned the post.

Only a few of Josh’s adult siblings showed up

Many of Jim Bob and Michelle’s older kids have Instagrams of their own, and they’re frequently making comments to each other. As far as Josh’s birthday is concerned, however, many of his siblings seemed to ignore it. On Anna’s original birthday post, Jana Duggar seemed to be the only sister to give him well wishes. And it doesn’t look like there’s much commentary from Josh’s siblings on Anna’s post of the family bowling, either.

We know many of the Duggars live near Jim Bob and Michelle, too. But it seems they also didn’t make an appearance at either of Josh’s birthday celebrations. The bowling photo shows plenty of the younger Duggars having a blast. But when it comes to Josh’s adult siblings, only Jana, Jedidiah, and Jeremiah showed up.

Duggar followers have their own opinions of what’s going on

We’re not sure if the other Duggars were busy or if they simply didn’t want to be associated with Josh for his birthday. Duggar followers on Reddit had plenty of opinions of their own regarding Josh’s birthday debacle.

“I actually wouldn’t be surprised if some of the adults dislike him!” one Reddit user noted. “Joe never seems to spend time around him and seemed genuinely angry with him when the scandals broke, and in some of the clips from the old show it looks like Jinger is trying really hard not to stand close to him.”

“The Duggars can blabber all they want about forgiving Josh, but anyone with eyes can see that isn’t true,” another added.

“What did they do for Jill’s birthday? Hint: nothing,” another reminded.

Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, spilled plenty of tea about the Duggars at the end of 2019. Perhaps he’s the one who really knows where the family stands with Josh and will share one day.
