Josh Duggar trial news continues to roll in on Dec. 2, 2021. The trial began at the end of November 2021, and so far, a few people who know Josh quite well — like his father, Jim Bob Duggar — have spoken in court. Now, more Duggar family members continue to attend the trial, and Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband, Austin Forsyth, is reportedly at the trial, too. So, why is Austin there? This may be the reason why.

Federal agents arrested Josh Duggar in April 2021 on suspicion of downloading and obtaining child sexual abuse material. Josh pleaded not guilty to the crimes, and he didn’t accept a plea deal, either. This landed him in court at the end of November 2021. Now, reporters attending Josh Duggar’s trial continue to give updates on what’s going on.

According to The Sun, Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, is attending the trial by his side. The Sun reporter noted she didn’t seem too distraught by the trial, and Josh seemed in high spirits when he arrived in court on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021. As for other news, the judge ruled in favor of the prosecution discussing Josh’s past molestation allegations from a 2006 police report. The defense tried to rule against the prosecution bringing up the past report, but it seems they didn’t win.

Additionally, Bobye Holt, a Duggar family friend, testified on Dec. 1. She claimed Josh inappropriately touched minors multiple times. Austin Forsyth and Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, also showed up in court on Dec. 1.

Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband, Austin Forsyth, is currently at the trial

Not only did Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband, Austin Forsyth, show up to the trial on Dec. 1, but according to The Sun, he’s back at Josh Duggar’s trial on Dec. 2. So, why is Austin in attendance along with a few other Duggar family members? It seems Joy-Anna’s alleged past with Josh may have something to do with it.

E! News reminds us Josh’s past molestation scandal was brought to light by the media in 2015. The police report from 2006 stated Josh allegedly molested five underage girls, a few of whom were his sisters. Jill Duggar and Jessa Duggar came forward as two of the victims. But there were additional clues, like Joy-Anna’s age, to suggest Joy-Anna Duggar was another sister directly affected by Josh’s actions.

With this information, it makes sense as to why Austin Forsyth would go to the trial if Joy-Anna was directly affected by Josh’s past actions. Additionally, The Sun reports Joy-Anna arrived in court alongside her husband. It’s likely she wanted moral support from her husband for the trial.

Austin Forsyth wasn’t the only Duggar family member to attend Josh Duggar’s trial on Dec. 2. As stated prior, Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, arrived in court on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2. Additionally, Anna Duggar is back in court on Dec. 2. And Justin Duggar along with his wife, Claire Spivey, also arrived on Dec. 2.

Jill Duggar and Jed Duggar may also provide testimonies for the case. People reports the court put them on the potential witness list. Jill posted photos of her new hairstyle during the trial, too, which may indicate she plans on speaking during the trial.
