The coronavirus (COVID-19) is causing mass panic worldwide And many are stuck in their homes hoping social isolation will help “flatten the curve” the virus’ peak. So far, it looks like America is bracing for the worst yet, and we’re looking for hotspots worldwide for guidance regarding how we can all do our part.

It’s not just average, everyday folks who are affected by the coronavirus, either. We know celebrities and reality stars are also sharing their thoughts and feelings — and the Duggars are among them. Josiah Duggar’s wife, Lauren, took to her Instagram Story on March 16 to share a recipe with her followers since everyone’s stuck in their homes. And her followers don’t have many nice things to say about it.

The Duggars are dealing with the coronavirus in their own ways

From mass panic to hoarding supplies to taking rational steps of understanding, everyone has a different approach to the coronavirus. So far, it looks like the Duggars aren’t amongst those who are panic-purchasing products and losing their cool. Most of the Duggars haven’t even mentioned the virus so far, and others have briefly explained their personal situations via Instagram Stories.

Jill Duggar is already one of the more candid Duggar women. And she took to her Instagram Story to share her plight during the coronavirus scare. “So, amidst the pandemic, we are nearly out of toilet paper. The one item that people are going crazy for,” she explained in the car with her two sons in the backseats. She then went on to explain that her husband, Derick Dillard, attempted to find toilet paper for hours, but to no avail. Thankfully, Jill was able to find some in a Walmart that was just restocking.

It looks like Josiah and Lauren are getting ready to stay indoors for quite some time as well. The young couple has a 4-month-old daughter, and they appear to be heeding quarantine advice for their family’s health. Lauren is still staying connected to her followers, though. She posted her own mini “cooking show” on her Instagram Story in response to having to stay home all day.

“Many of ya’ll are probably cooped up at home because of the coronavirus. Same here,” she told her followers via her Instagram Story on March 16. “I thought I would do, like, a pretend ‘cooking show’ on what I eat since I’m gluten-free.”

She then went on to show off her “chipotle kale sweet potato salad” she loves making. Lauren included all the necessary ingredients in a list, and she showed off how she prefers to cook her sweet potatoes along with the onions and kale. And she also tops the dish off with chipotle mayo.

Her followers aren’t impressed with what she’s serving

Lauren may think this is the perfect opportunity to share her cooking prowess with her followers. But Reddit users aren’t impressed by what she’s cooking up. They didn’t think her meal looked appetizing or well-made, and they’re unsure why she would bother documenting it at all.

“Had a steep learning curve when I got married and had to start cooking all the meals,” one Reddit user stated. “But I was clever enough to NOT document and publish my failed attempts. Yeah, she knows it bad, too.”

“Hopefully this is a start for Lauren but honestly seems like she is just playing house. How on earth are these two parents and independent?” another wrote.

“Why would she publish this?! That chick is so clueless,” another added.

We’re not sure if we’ll see more of Lauren’s cooking on her Instagram. But given how much extra time she might now have on her hands, we don’t put it past her.
