Joy-Anna Duggar recently welcomed a newborn daughter into her family — and she and Austin Forsyth couldn’t be more excited. She decided to have her baby in a hospital, which is against what her mother, Michelle Duggar believes. But it seems the birth went smoothly, and both mother and baby are now home safe.

Joy-Anna posted a video to YouTube prior to heading to the hospital, too. And she noted she put up photos of babies and “birth affirmations” to help her get through it. Here’s what she noted.

Joy-Anna Duggar recently gave birth to her daughter

The Duggars love kids, and Joy-Anna is no different. The happy mom recently gave birth to her daughter, Evelyn Mae Forsyth. And while Joy-Anna and Austin decided to take a step back from Counting On, they’re sharing photos and videos of their home life with their fans via Instagram and YouTube.

“To say my heart is full is an understatement,” Joy-Anna captioned her post after having her baby girl. “We have been dreaming of this day and are so happy to announce that our baby girl arrived August 21st at 2:12pm weighing 8lbs 5oz and is 19.5” long! She has the best personality, is easy going and loves to be held!”

This baby is particularly special to Joy-Anna and Austin considering Joy-Anna’s pregnancy before this ended in miscarriage. The couple expressed their devastation to their followers on the ‘gram. But with the help of family and friends, they can move forward and care for their son, Gideon, and baby Evelyn while leaving some grief behind them.

Joy-Anna created a video for her fans prior to heading to the hospital

Joy-Anna’s taken her followers with her every step of the way when it comes to her recent pregnancy. From her announcement to Austin and the rest of the Duggars to her packing her hospital bag, fans have seen exactly how Joy-Anna prepared for the arrival of her little one. And before Evelyn’s birth, Joy-Anna created one last video to share with her fans.

“Guess what? Tomorrow is my due date,” Joy-Anna explained at the beginning of her video. “I’m so done being pregnant, but I’m just learning to be patient.”

Joy-Anna also explained that she wanted to do a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), but her biggest concern was allowing the pregnancy to go on too long without being induced. Finally, after a few days of long walks and hoping for some significant contractions, she headed to the hospital.

“It’s kind of surreal to me,” Joy-Anna noted while on her way to the hospital. “I don’t think it’s actually hit me that we’re going to the hospital.”

We imagine all of the Duggars have their own comforts they want when giving birth. And Joy-Anna explained hers. At the end of her video, she’s in the hospital ready to have her baby girl. And she noted she put birth affirmations and photos of newborns up to help her out.

“We got some posters hung up on the wall,” Austin explained, as he’s the one manning the camera in the hospital. “We’re gonna be having one of those little babies soon.” And he then panned around the room to show the words of encouragement that were also on the hospital walls.

“Encouraging, thoughtful birth affirmations. We got birth affirmations all around,” Joy-Anna added. “So, whatever position I’m in, I’ll have something to read that’s encouraging.”

We’re not sure if the affirmations were helpful, but Joy-Anna and Austin are overjoyed to have their baby with them at home now. And fans are certainly looking forward to more updates on how the birthing experience went this time.
