The Duggars adore children, and Joy-Anna Duggar is no different. She and her husband, Austin Forsyth, welcomed their second child in August 2020. And the parents are ultra-excited for the world to get to know their little one.

Since Joy-Anna and Austin left Counting On, they’ve been keeping their followers informed on what’s going on via YouTube. And right before Joy-Anna gave birth, she shared some thoughts and fears about the pregnancy. It’s here she noted she believes her “body is designed” for birthing children, too.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar believed in having as many kids as possible

Those who follow the Duggars know Jim Bob and Michelle adore children. And they’ve even condemned birth control, as they believe it was responsible for Michelle’s early miscarriage. Since ditching birth control, the couple had 19 kids — and they believe it was God’s will for them to have as many children as they do.

“I went back on the pill, and I ended up getting pregnant while on the pill,” Michelle explained to cameras. “We ended up losing that baby, and that was very difficult for us, because, here we are as parents, holding this one baby in our arms, enjoying being a mama and a daddy. And then realizing that, with our own lack of knowledge, [we’d allowed] one of our own babies to be destroyed.”

Not all the Duggars believe in ditching birth control, though. Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, admitted they don’t abide by this rule.

Joy-Anna Duggar recently gave birth to a baby girl

Joy-Anna’s gotten candid with her followers regarding having kids before. She and Austin miscarried the baby they had after Gideon, and that made having their newborn daughter all the more special. The couple’s daughter was born on Aug. 21, 2020.

“We have been dreaming of this day and are so happy to announce that our baby girl arrived August 21st at 2:12 p.m. weighing 8 lbs., 5 oz. and is 19.5 inches long,” Joy-Anna captioned her post on Instagram. “She has the best personality, is easy going and loves to be held! She has her nights and days mixed up, but honestly, I love it! Getting to spend that quiet, quality time with her through the night has been SO special!”

Joy-Anna’s posted a few more photos of her baby since the birth, too. “I am at a loss for words, so I’m just going to say … She is perfect and I love her more than I EVER thought imaginable!” the happy mom captioned the post of her daughter on Aug. 26.

A new video was posted to Joy-Anna’s YouTube that’s all about heading to the hospital for her daughter’s birth. And Joy-Anna explained that she and Austin were going to walk four miles the next morning if she still wasn’t in labor by then. The whole idea of having another “huge” baby made her nervous, too.

“I know my body is designed to birth babies,” Joy-Anna said. “I know that. But, at the same time, if I could have a smaller baby, I would prefer that, ’cause I know that’s easier. I don’t think I have a very good chance of having a small baby, but if I could, that would be great.”

Joy-Anna then noted she never thought her pregnancy would last this long, so she was willing to do anything to get the ball rolling on having her daughter. But her doctors thought it was fine for her to go a little over 41 weeks with her baby.

In the end, we know both mother and baby were just fine despite Joy-Anna’s worries. We can’t wait to hear more about little Evelyn Mae Forsyth!
