In June 2019, BTS released an album called BTS World: Original Soundtrack. The album was released as the official soundtrack for a mobile game called BTS World. On Aug. 31, Jungkook of BTS held a VLIVE livestream to celebrate his birthday with fans. During the livestream, Jungkook seemingly forgot that BTS’ song “Heartbeat” from BTS World: Original Soundtrack exists.

BTS released ‘Heartbeat’ in 2019

The BTS World: Original Soundtrack tracklist includes four singles and multiple instrumental tracks. Three of the singles are sub-unit songs performed by select BTS members and a featured artist while “Heartbeat” is performed solely by the members of BTS.

“Dream Glow” is performed by Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, and Charli XCX. J-Hope, V, and Zara Larsson perform the song “A Brand New Day” on BTS World: Original Soundtrack. The single “All Night” features Suga, RM, and Juice Wrld.

“Heartbeat” does not have any features and is performed by Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. With the song, the BTS members sing about destiny and being fated to meet each other.

Jungkook forgot about BTS’ song ‘Heartbeat’

Jungkook was born on Sept. 1, 1997. To celebrate his birthday with fans, the BTS singer held a VLIVE livestream on Aug. 31. Jungkook titled the VLIVE “Happy Birthday To Me.”

With the VLIVE, Jungkook stayed online with ARMY for over two hours. To interact with fans, the BTS member took requests from fans and performed multiple songs.

When a fan suggested “Heartbeat,” Jungkook looked at the message and appeared confused.

“‘Heartbeat’? ‘Heartbeat’? Do we have a song called ‘Heartbeat’?” Jungkook asked during the VLIVE according to a fan translation.

Jungkook performed more songs and went back to looking at requests. When more fans suggested “Heartbeat,” he once again questioned if BTS had a song with that name.

“What is that? ‘Heartbeat,'” he wondered. “What’s with ‘Heartbeat’? Do we have a song called ‘Heartbeat’? What song is it?”

He proceeded to search for the song online. As soon as “Heartbeat” played over the speakers, he smiled and hid his face with his hand. After commenting about how long it had been since he heard “Heartbeat,” Jungkook performed the song for fans.

BTS fans love ‘Heartbeat’

Because “Heartbeat” was released as part of an official soundtrack and not a studio album, the song did not receive heavy promotion. Years after its release, BTS fans still post about the song on social media hoping the members of BTS will perform it one day.

“God i wish this song was more popular because it’s SOO good,” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Another fan wrote on Reddit, “All I ask for is one live performance of this. Please. Just one at least. It’s such a good song!!!”

“The game is mehh, not my thing,, but the song and the MV are SO good!! Would easily put that song in my top 10 favourites by them,” wrote a Reddit user.
