Kate Moss Said Nobody ‘Took Care’ of Her Like Johnny Depp

Kate Moss and Johnny Depp were one of the most praised couples in the 1990s. Their romance is still being talked about to this day, and the supermodel has nothing but kind things to say about her former beau. In fact, in a recent interview, she admitted that nobody was able to take care of her in the way Depp had.

While speaking to Vanity Fair in 2012, Moss emphasized how excellent Depp was as a romantic partner. She says that he gave her sound advice about the industry that she still carries with her to this day.

“There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said,” Moss says. “Like if I said, ‘What do I do?’ he’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare… Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!”

“I was lucky to be with Johnny,” she tells E! “He taught me a lot about fame. He told me, ‘never complain, never explain.’ That’s why I don’t use Twitter and things like that. I don’t want people to know what is true all the time, and that’s what keeps the mystery.”

Moss and Depp seemed like the perfect couple at the time, so many were left wondering why they eventually decided to split up. And according to the Edward Scissorhands actor, it’s his fault that their relationship went south. He says that over time, he let his stress from work get to him, and he no longer was able to give Moss the attention that she deserved.

In an interview with Hello! Magazine, Depp said,

“I have been so stupid because we had so much going for our relationship. I’m the one who has to take responsibility for what happened—I was difficult to get on with, I let my work get in the way, and I didn’t give her the attention I should have done.

“The whole thing was crazy because I should never have got so worked up over what people had to say about my work,” Depp continued. “Sure, I should care about my movies, but when I get home, I should try to leave that stuff behind. I couldn’t do that, and I was horrific to live with. Trust me. I’m a total moron at times.”
