Chief stew Heather Chase’s friend Kaylee Milligan will join Below Deck after third stew Jessica Albert resigned. And while Milligan’s arrival should take the stress off of the interior, not everyone is thrilled – namely Fraser Olender. In fact, Milligan’s impending arrival causes more tension and problems even before she arrives.

Eddie Lucas worries a friend of Heather Chase’s could bring more tension to the ‘Below Deck’ crew

Chase is excited to have Milligan on board and gushes about her to department heads Eddie Lucas and chef Rachel Hargrove. “I’m very excited about Kaylee,” she tells Hargrove and Lucas during a preference sheet meeting. “She was the second stew on my boat in Florida.”

Milligan won’t arrive until mid-charter and Lucas expresses some concern that Milligan and Chase’s friendship could create some tension with second stew Fraser Olender.

Chase assures Lucas she will keep an eye out for any tension once Milligan gets on board. But the minute Chase shares that her friend will be joining the crew, Olender wants to know more about her. Chase says she worked with Milligan for eight months. “Which should be exciting,” she says to him.

Fraser Olender is less than excited to the new stew on ‘Below Deck’

Unfortunately, “exciting” was not what Olender feels. “I feel threatened,” he admits in a confessional. “I don’t like someone coming in who knows Heather. To sort of impede on what we just built. It makes me worry and I feel insecure.”

He confides in deckhands Rayna Lindsey and Jake Foulger, sharing that he wasn’t sure how he feels. Lindsey thinks bringing Chase’s friend on board wasn’t a great idea. “Just keep doing your job correctly because you are still shining regardless,” she advises him.

Unfortunately, Chase busts them talking about the situation behind her back. “What do you want, no help at all?” she shoots back at the crew. Olender assures Chase that wasn’t it. But Chase is defensive telling him, “Well it was her or nobody else.” She then cuts him off, “It’s help or it’s no help.”

Heather Chase is angry that the crew questions her stew choice

Chase storms off after jabbing at Olender. “I am furious,” she says in a confessional. “We’ve all been carrying the weight. We need an extra set of hands.” Adding, “I kind of expected Fraser to take this as a good thing. I’m just like fed up.”

Chase then tells Lucas that she busted Olender telling Lindsey and Foulger that bringing Milligan in was a “terrible idea.”  Hargrove reminds Chase she is the head of the department so she should rise above it.

But Olender is still extremely concerned about how the dynamic will be impacted. He acknowledges that the feelings he’s having have something to do with his confidence level too. However, before Milligan arrives Chase reminds him he will remain in the second stew spot and it will be his job to mentor her.

But Olender still seems to be ready to put Milligan in her place – once she arrives. Milligan has yet to join the crew.
