Keanu Reeves has rightfully earned the reputation as the nicest guy in Hollywood because he’s exactly that. Whether it’s helping someone after their car broke down, surprising a fan who put up a sign for the actor in her yard, or teaching an interested kid about how CGI works, Reeves has proven on many occasions that he’s a kind and caring person.

Keanu Reeves adorably told a little boy how CGI works

In a 2012 interview on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson, Reeves explained how the documentary Side by Side that he worked on explored “the art, science, and impact of digital cinema.”

“The documentary kind of looks into ‘what are we gaining and what are we losing’” with technology, he explained. “I think if film goes away, we’re losing a lot — the way it looks, the way it feels.”

In one part of the documentary, Reeves is seen trying to boil down a complicated process for a young boy who asked, “How did you go into the computer.”

“So I would have my hand, and then they would take a picture of it, and then in a computer, they would do an animation of, like, a silver hand, and then they would show you on a movie screen,” he explained sweetly.

The boy smiled after hearing the explanation and Reeves gave a small laugh.

Keanu Reeves once helped Octavia Spencer with her broken-down car

Octavia Spencer has shared the story of how Reeves came to her rescue in her early days when she was on her way to an audition.

Spencer explained on The Graham Norton Show in 2020 that The Matrix had just come out at the time. Her car broke down “in this very posh area of Beverly Hills, and there was a cafe and all of these people are sitting out there, and the cars were honking,” she noted. “Nobody would help me.”

Reeves arrived and asked if she needed help, telling her to get in the car and he’d push her onto the street. She was thankful for his help but “mortified” because her car was covered in bird poop and she was wearing sweats, a worn t-shirt, and no underwear.

Reeves also showed how sweet he is when he noticed a sign in one woman’s yard in the neighborhood he was filming Bill & Ted Face the Music. Stacey Hunt had put up a sign saying “You’re breathtaking” (a reference to Reeves saying that at the Xbox E3 2019 event’s Cyberpunk 2077 presentation) and it caught his eye.

Hunt told Nola.com that she came home to find a car pulled up to her house and Reeves wanting to check out the sign.

“I could not believe that he was in my yard, and he was casual and like, ‘Can I sign your sign?’” Hunt noted.
