The $100 million defamation lawsuit brought by Blac Chyna against members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan continues. With it comes Kim Kardashian’s testimony recap. The reality TV star and Skims founder took the witness stand on April 26, 2022. Kardashian fought back against the claim she, her mother Kris Jenner, and sisters, Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian, conspired to end Rob & Chyna.  She explained 2017 text messages, saying they were riddled with errors because of voice-dictation.

Kim Kardashian testimony recap: Her 2017 text message to a ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ producer

Kardashian took the stand where she addressed a particular text message she sent in March 2017. Per Rolling Stone, she testified the text shown to jurors had errors because she used voice dictation to write it. “Anytime I write something long, it’s voice-dictated,” she said.

Lynne Ciani, the lawyer for Chyna, whose legal name is Angela White, read the text message from Kardashian to a KUWTK producer out loud in the Los Angeles courtroom:

“OK, I don’t know what to do at this point but the level of disrespect is just unreal. Chyna told everyone that she’s on her show and she went to go get Dream’s ears pierced with Rob on camera today. We specifically all had a talk about this and said Chyna can never be on her show.”

“So I think we just really all need a break from filming to wrap our heads around, do we want to be on a show that Chyna’s on, because you know we don’t,” she wrote later in the message. The text ended with Kardashian saying if producers continued filming with Rob and Chyna, “then you’re going to lose the rest of the Kardashians and Jenners.”

Kardashian said her phone got the text message wrong

Explaining the message, Kardashian testified she didn’t remember sending it. However, assuming she did, she said her phone didn’t properly dictate her words. “This is clearly voice-dictated,” she said. “I think the ‘her,’ where it says, ‘Chyna told everyone that she’s on her show,’ it would be, ‘She’s on our show.’”

Kardashian also said the same thing happened with the line, “Chyna can never be on her show.”

“Again, it would be ‘our show,’ because I would never refer to her show as her show,” she said. “I would say Rob’s show, since it’s a spinoff of a Kardashian show.”

Kardashian testified that ‘the show doesn’t listen to us’

Kardashian’s testimony also included more on KUWTK, a plan to “blur” Chyna out of footage, and who really had control over the show. Ciani asked Kardashian to address a text message where she referred to the plan to “blur” Chyna out as “ridiculous.”

“We just don’t want her on,” Kardashian said in another March 2017 message. “This is honestly so to the next level. I just, I’m going to officially take a break because I don’t want to do this anymore because this is so confusing this is just not happening I cannot believe no one listens to us, no one respects us. It’s just not happening.”

Once again, Kardashian said she didn’t recall the message. “But I’m not denying this is me. This looks like something I would say,” she testified.

She continued, saying, “However, again, the show doesn’t listen to us. They have the power. And I have the right to personally take a break if I feel like I’m in a toxic work environment because this is on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

Kardashian’s testimony came after other family members took the stand including her mother and sisters. The trial is ongoing amidst another celebrity trial. Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard in Virginia.
