Kourtney Kardashian’s Boyfriend Travis Barker Was Attracted to Her Sister

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are in the midst of a hot and heavy romance. The reality star and the Blink-182 drummer have been friends for years, but things became romantic fairly recently, and after a whirlwind courtship, their love affair is progressing quickly.

For fans, the romance between Kourtney Kardashian and Barker might be unlikely, but it works. And based on the duo’s sappy snapshots on social media, they could even be soulmates. Still, there was once a time when Barker was open about his attraction to one of Kourtney Kardashian’s younger sisters. 

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have been friends for years

For years, Kourtney Kardashian was in an on-again-off-again relationship with Scott Disick, the father of her three children. After breaking up with Disick, she went on to date a young model named Younes Bendjima — but they broke up in the summer of 2018.

For several years following that breakup, Kardashian was single. In the spring of 2021, however, she reconnected with her friend, drummer Travis Barker, and the two embarked on a romance.

According to sources, Kourtney Kardashian and Barker have known each other for “several years” and have even been romantically linked in the past. In 2019, Barker shut down rumors that he was dating her at that time, saying: “Kourtney’s like a dear friend. That’s it. I mean, I love her to death. I love her family to death. But yeah, just friends.”

The two even live close to each other, with Barker’s residence located just down the street from Kourtney Kardashian’s exclusive Calabasas home. 

When did Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker start dating?

Barker and Kourtney Kardashian’s dating relationship seemed to begin in January 2021. Page Six reported that month that Barker and Kourtney Kardashian had been spending a lot of time together at Kris Jenner’s vacation home, and that the two stars had begun to discover that they actually have quite a bit in common.

In the months since then, the couple has been open about their romance, sharing lots of pictures on social media and commenting on each other’s posts with sweet, flirty emojis. For Kourtney Kardashian’s mid-April birthday, Barker went all out, showering his girlfriend with a stunning flower arrangement and praising her on social media. 

What did Travis Barker once say about Kim Kardashian?

Although Barker is all about Kourtney Kardashian these days, and wastes no opportunity to gush about the petite reality star, there was a time when the tattooed drummer couldn’t get enough of Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian’s younger sister. In 2015, Barker opened up about his crush on Kim Kardashian, admitting that he had met both Kim Kardashian and her then-bestie, Paris Hilton, several years prior.

He said: “How could you not stare at Kim? Mind you, I enjoyed hanging out with Paris, but I love curvy girls. Kim was eye candy. I was no way disrespectful to Paris, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off Kim!”

That was the same meeting that Barker claimed Kim Kardashian talked to him about potentially making the jump to reality television.

“‘I think my family is interesting and it could be something,'” Barker remembered Kardashian admitting to him. “I gave her the best advice I could.”

Safe to say, these days, Barker is probably thinking of Kim Kardashian only as potential sister-in-law material.
