For 20 seasons, Keeping Up with the Kardashians was the premiere reality show on television. Fans loved following along with the exploits of the quirky Kardashian-Jenner clan, and over the years, each member of the family became famous for their own unique reasons. From Kylie Jenner’s cosmetic empire to Kim Kardashian’s budding law career, it seems as though the family took their reality fame and ran with it — gradually outgrowing the show that had made them household names. In the wake of the final season of KUWTK, the Kardashians revealed that they wouldn’t exactly be disappearing and that they planned to appear in a new Hulu show. However, in a recent Reddit thread, some fans expressed their doubts that the promised new series would happen at all.

In March 2021, the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians debuted on the E! network. The final season had been discussed for years among fans, many of whom felt that the famous family had overstayed their welcome and were no longer as transparent about their personal lives as they had been in years past.

The final season included nods to Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics business, Khloé Kardashian’s troubled relationship with Tristan Thompson and her desire to expand her family, as well as Kim Kardashian’s recently-announced split from her rapper husband, Kanye West. When the final episode aired, fans were surprisingly emotional, recalling the times when the family had shared their most intimate moments with their viewers.

The Kardashians teased a brand-new Hulu show

In conjunction with the launch of the final season of KUWTK, the Kardashian-Jenners unveiled a shocking new announcement — that they would soon be featuring in another reality series, this time on Hulu. Kris Jenner shared that the show is going to be “the next chapter. In the new show, you’ll see us evolving as a family, fans want us to be who we are and since moment one, they’ve been emotionally invested in our show just like we are.”

Still, since the announcement in early 2021, there have been no additional details regarding the new Hulu show — no release date, and oddly, no title. While some fans might initially have been excited about the prospect of seeing more of the Kardashians, now, many of them are starting to get suspicious.

Fans don’t think that the Hulu show will actually happen

In a recent Reddit thread, fans broke down why they think the promised Hulu show won’t actually happen.

“I don’t think a Hulu show will ever materialize. This family promotes the shit out of all of their projects, so why have there been no updates about this? Also, I legit don’t think they could pull in the views, and let’s be honest that’s why their E! show ended,” one fan wrote.

Another agreed, posting, “I have this strange gut feeling that it’s not happening. Idk why. Lol probably not true but that’s what I’m feeling.”

One fan was slightly more optimistic, writing, “I have a feeling they’re enjoying not filming for now and are still trying to figure out which direction they’re gonna go with the new show/shows. I want them to go back to a more early KUWTK approach and have several spin offs or separate shows.”

Right now, fans are confused, and with interest potentially waning in Kardashian-related storylines, it might be in the family’s best interest to make an announcement soon. It’s either that, or risk losing a good chunk of the audience when and if the show does debut on Hulu.
