The Kardashian-Jenner siblings are some of the most famous reality stars in the world, and recently, they added a new family member to the brood. Kirby Jenner is a brand-new show that just premiered on Quibi and is already making waves with fans of reality television. The show, which focuses on Kendall Jenner‘s “secret fraternal twin,” has the full support of the Kardashian-Jenner family. Still, some fans are a little uncomfortable with the concept and recently spoke out on Twitter, revealing how the very idea of the show could be insulting to the real Kardashian brother, Rob Kardashian

Who is Kirby Jenner?

In actuality, “Kirby Jenner” is not a real person. He is a performance artist who has never revealed his true name. He founded an Instagram account in 2015 and began posting pictures that Photoshopped images of himself next to shots of model Kendall Jenner. The account quickly became popular with fans, and the joke took off. What is even more strange is that the Kardashian-Jenner family seemingly embraced the Kirby Jenner Instagram account, following it and liking many of the photos.

Over the past few years, Kirby Jenner has begun posting a wide variety of doctored images and videos on the account, even inserting himself into iconic scenes from Keeping Up with the Kardashians. He has also added himself to pictures with many other family members, including Kim Kardashian West, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kanye West, and Kourtney Kardashian — even though the account initially focused on his relationship with his “sister,” Kendall Jenner.

The Kardashians are in on the joke

Leave it to the Kardashian family to monetize a concept. Recently, the short-form streaming platform Quibi launched a new show, Kirby Jenner, that focuses entirely on the life of Kendall Jenner’s fake fraternal twin. As Kirby Jenner stated in a preview, “everyone in my family has already had their own reality show. So when this network asked if I wanted to do my own show I was like, ‘I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about it.’ But then my mom said, ‘Yes.'”

Not only are the Kardashian-Jenners fine with their likenesses being used, but the show was made with their full cooperation and support. In fact, Kris and Kendall Jenner are executive producers on Kirby Jenner and nearly every member of the family seems to be down to make appearances on it. While it has not been revealed how long Kirby Jenner will be around for, it certainly seems as though the family has embraced both the concept and the performance artist behind the gag.

Why Kendall Jenner’s Fraternal Twin Brother Kirby Is the Kar-Jenners’ ‘Best Kept Secret’

Even if the Kardashian-Jenners love the show, fans aren’t quite so sure. In fact, all the marketing for Kirby Jenner references the character as the Kardashian-Jenner “brother,” and fans have taken issue with it. Rob Kardashian is the only male sibling in the Kardashian clan and the most reclusive one of the lot. He has had many struggles over the years, from a long-running battle with depression to trouble losing weight. These days, Kardashian is mostly MIA, rarely making public appearances, much less appearing on episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians

The Kardashian family has been posting on Twitter in support of the show, with Khloé Kardashian even giving Kirby Jenner a shoutout for National Brother’s Day. Fans were quick to respond, saying that the “whole Kirby Jenner thing is funny but messed up,” referencing Rob Kardashian as “the forgotten brother.” Others slammed the family for refusing to talk about their “real blood brother.” Still, some defended the Kardashians, stating that if Rob Kardashian wants to stay out of the spotlight, the rest of the family can’t be blamed.
