‘KUWTK’: There Are Only 3 Essential Spinoffs You Need to Watch, According to Fans
Even people who’ve never watched an episode have at least heard about Keeping Up With The Kardashians, an enormously successful reality show following the Kardashian-Jenner family that has been on the air for 17 seasons. But did you know that Keeping Up With The Kardashians also has had several spin-off shows highlighting some of the most famous family members?
In the spin-offs and specials that happen in-between seasons, a lot of important scenes and details are revealed to viewers that they wouldn’t have been able to catch otherwise.
First-time viewers of the original show might feel like they’re missing episodes when only watching KUWTK, which is what happened to one Reddit user. Some spin-off episodes are necessary to understand the Kardashian-Jenner family’s complete storyline, but not all of them, fans say. They recently listed the most important Kardashian-Jenner spin-offs that they say every KUWTK fan must watch in order for the show to make sense.
What are all of the Kardashian-Jenner spin-offs?
One Reddit user created a huge list of all of the Kardashian-Jenner spin-offs and specials in existence for the benefit of all fans. The list includes 3 seasons of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami (previously titled Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami), 2 seasons of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, and, of course, the singular season of Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons.
It seems like Kourtney, Khloé, and Kim have “taken” every fashionable city in America! There are also 2 seasons of Khloé and Lamaron the list, which gave fans a glimpse into the life of sister Khloé Kardashian and her then-husband, basketball star Lamar Odom. There is also a spin-off that features the baby of the clan, Kylie Jenner, aptly (if not very creatively) titled Life with Kylie.
There are also “specials” that are interspersed between seasons, and some of them are unrecognizable by all but the most intense Kardashian-Jenner fans. For example, have you ever heard of A Very Kardashian Holiday, which was released in 2017, or Dishing It Out, an hour-long special from all the way back in 2012? We’d imagine it’d be difficult to even find where to stream some of these more forgotten-about spin-offs and specials.
The three essential ‘KUWTK’ spin-offs
A new fan of Keeping Up With The Kardashians might feel overwhelmed thinking that they need to watch every spin-off and special in existence in order to be able to keep up with the storylines in the main series.
Lucky for them, fans reveal that new viewers don’t need to watch all of the spin-offs for things to make sense, but there are definitely a few essential ones that they should invest your time in.
“[P]ersonally I think the only worthwhile spinoffs are Miami, Hamptons, and Khloe & Lamar. the other ones are fun to watch but you don’t NEED to watch to understand,” a KUWTK superfan revealed on Reddit.
People who are just now foraying into the Kardashians’ universe should make sure not to miss these three shows if they don’t want any plot holes.
The spin-offs make ‘KUWTK’ make sense
In a brilliant stroke of genius, Kris Jenner seems to have designed the series purposefully so that viewers are motivated to watch the spin-offs in order for the main series to make complete sense.
If they don’t, then they might end up feeling like they’re missing episodes and huge events in the Kardashians’ lives!
“You’ve got to watch the spin offs!! So much happens but between main seasons and spin-offs you get to see a lot of it,” one fan says. It seems like there are hours more of Kardashian-Jenner footage that KUWTK fans need to invest in for the full experience.
