The 2022 Grammy Awards will be held in Las Vegas

The 2022 Grammy Awards were originally supposed to be held on Jan. 31 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Recording Academy postponed the award show.

On Jan. 18, the Recording Academy announced a rescheduled date for the 2022 Grammy Awards. Instead of taking place in LA, the award show was relocated to Las Vegas.

“The 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards® have been rescheduled and will now broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sun, April 3 (8-11:30 p.m., live ET/5-8:30 p.m., live PT) on the CBS Television Network and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+,” the Recording Academy wrote in a press release.

The Recording Academy’s statement continues, “Trevor Noah, Comedy Central’s Emmy® Award-winning “The Daily Show” host and comedian, will return as master of ceremonies for Music’s Biggest Night®. The show moved from its original date of Jan. 31 amid growing concerns surrounding the Omicron variant.”

BTS will have a broadcast of their concerts at the same venue as the 2022 Grammy Awards

On Feb. 22, Big Hit Music announced that BTS will put on Permission to Dance On Stage – Las Vegas on April 8, April 9, April 15, and April 16. The four concerts will have an adjoining “LIVE PLAY in LAS VEGAS” broadcast each day. The April 16 concert date will also have a livestream for fans around the world to watch.

According to a press release about the concerts, “‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LAS VEGAS’ will take place at Allegiant Stadium in front of a live audience. Additionally, the in-person live broadcast event ‘LIVE PLAY in LAS VEGAS’ will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena on all four days. The concert will also be streamed online on the last day of the tour on April 16.”

Ticket demand for Permission to Dance On Stage – Las Vegas is expected to be high. BTS using the MGM Grand Garden Arena to broadcast the concerts shows just how massive the concerts are and how popular BTS have become.
