Shooting her shot with Chris Evans is nothing new for Lizzo

Lizzo never shies away from speaking her mind, and she’s definitely proven that when it’s come to expressing her love for Evans.

Recently, the singer made headlines for sending the Marvel actor a drunk DM. But it turns out that wasn’t the first time she’s put it all on the line for him on social media.

In 2019, Lizzo had a moment with Evans on Twitter after he retweeted a video she shared of a 6-year-old dancing along to her song “Juice.”

“This kid is cooler than I could ever hope to be,” he captioned the clip.

After realizing that she had caught his attention, Lizzo replied, “Wow marry me.” She later shared a screenshot of the thread on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Shooters gon shoot,” per the Boston Herald.

Lizzo sent Chris Evans a legendary drunk DM

On Apr. 17, Lizzo revealed on TikTok that she had drunkenly slid into Evans’ DMs, telling her followers, “Don’t drink and DM, kids…. for legal porpoises this is a joke.”

The “Truth Hurts” singer shared a screenshot of what she sent the Captain America star. It involved three emojis: the wind-blowing emoji, a woman playing basketball, and a basketball, which ultimately translates to “shooting my shot.”

All while the video played, Lizzo lip-synced to a TikTok audio by Tatayanna Mitchell. “The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not going to be able to marry him,” she said to the camera. “And honestly, it hurts me to the core. Because, damn papa, he a rare breed. No comparing.”

Much to Lizzo’s surprise, Chris Evans messaged her back

At the time of the video, neither Lizzo nor Evans followed each other online.

However, Lizzo’s dream of getting the actor’s attention came true the next day when she revealed in a separate TikTok that he’d not only followed her back but responded to her drunk DM.

“No shame in a drunk DM. God knows I’ve done worse on this app lol,” he wrote, which the singer naturally freaks out over in the video.

But the pair’s social media exchange didn’t end there.

After receiving comments from fans asking for developments on her and Evans’ private conversation, the singer delivered an update on Apr. 24, posting yet another TikTok video revealing a few more of her DMs with the Marvel actor.

In a short clip, the Grammy winner quickly flashed a screenshot of her and Evans’ messages on-screen before saying, “So, let’s see what your pause game is like…”

As expected, fans quickly got to work testing out their pass game and got ahold of Lizzo and Evans’ chat.

In response to his message, the singer wrote, “Well.. they say u miss 100% of the shots you never take (and even tho I unsent it like a dork) I’m glad u know I exist now.”

The Knives Out star responded again with a message reassuring Lizzo the he’s a big fan of hers.

“Of course I do!” he wrote. “I’m a fan! Keep up the great work!”

The rest of the conversation is unfortunately covered. But we’ll be sure to keep a lookout for any new updates.
